What constitutes sitting idle? When I'm playing now if I'm building I have to wait for a slot to clear to continue, depending on what I'm building I'm sitting and waiting. Is this considered "sitting idle"?

As long as you are actively playing the game. We just do not want to see players logging in and going AFK.
Well but you do not describe "going AF". As that guy says when you are high level with all deposits discovered, explorers away searching for 1day and you have to wait around 15mins for a mine to be built, well what else can you do? Unless you have an active adventure and so on. Or move generals from one place to another. Well this is not activity demanding game. Its usually played like that: log in. rebuild fields/wells, go AFK or off-line. Well just you could describe what in this case AFK is. How long you have to stay idle to be considered AFK.
I agree...we need that information.
We also would appreciate knowing whether or not chat keeps us from being considered "idle". I know that many games of this type do NOT consider mouse clicks on the interface panels (like the trade house, treasure chest or economy menu) to be a sign of playing--in other words, even if you are actively using an interface panel, those clicks are not registered as being active and thus, you are determined to be "idle". Is this true with SettlersOnline too?
Whilst we are at it, is this AFK log out feature what has been logging so many of us out of the game? If so, you should know that this seems to affect our ISP also because we (we have 5 players at my house!) all have issues with being logged out--particularly when we are sending a trade request through to the Trade Office.
Would really LOVE to hear some official information about these issues!
Thanks for reading.
