Thank you for our daily bread, and keeping unemployment low, and dealing with the noisy neighbours. They don't seem to last very long.

On this, our first Thanksgiving since our arrival on this strange isle, we give thanks for the prosperity that this land has provided. From our first day ashore, when we stumbled upon a strange patch of orange orbs hidden in a thick smoke from what could only be a witch's cauldron...until this day of writing these words of thanks on this page of the community Biblethread...we continue to gain experience and jewels of wisdom. Our farms produce unlimited bounty and our breweries fill our mugs with joy. Lo - we have cleared the lands and vanquished our enemies - sectors 1-5 - and discovered gold in the sacred Hunting Grounds. To the north, the earth has opened her veins to provide black coal - and we see an industrial future of growth and the challenge of harnessing its power without spoiling this land where the water still runs clean and the fish almost jump into our nets. There be challenges yet - CHUCK fills our hearts with dread while our young men train hard with swords of bronze, iron and steel and learn to ride the ponies that we have lured into our stables...Our faithful explorer has penetrated the mists to the northeast and we fear his vision of endless camps of the most cruel and savage creatures...and yet, on this day, we give thanks that our harvest has been so great, we must soon rebuild the Mayor's Residence for the third time. Entered this day 15 November in the Year of Eliot 2012.

Elaines Island is going to celebrate Thanksgiving with some fresh shot Turkey, some fresh dressing with some sausage in it. The neighbors are bringing a
hog over to put on the spit in the early morning to go with some greens. The other neighbor is bringing mince meat pies, more than likely a Apple pie and a Cherry pie too. It will be a nice party, it will be a lot of fun after we get done with the cleaning, we can all get the musical instruments out and have a jig. It will be a wonderful weekend for all.
