my settlers are very thankful to my explorer for always being able to find the resource nodes in the same spot, so they dont need to ship their masons all over the island

My settlers are thankful for the duckies. Each one of them contribute something special or unique to the guild that can only be supplied by them.

I'm thankful for the tireless adventures who go out and find problems for my recruits to go off and die for their country to help others.

First , I am thankful my Guildmates who never let me down, and who always help the new members.
Second, I am thankful for Ubisoft and Bluebyte who keep working to make a great game better.
And finally, I am grateful for all the recruits and their families, who suffer and die for the glory of the Motherland.

I'm coming, Mother, I'm coming." Jillian hurried towards that back stoop of Lord Crieff's new mansion, a mansion he'd received as his reward for helping defeat the raiders who'd been terrorizing Gray's Island. Her father and brother's had jumped at the chance to return to Glencarse Island with the earl in exchange for Gerald joining the Crieff Rangers.
Her mother was standing on the back stoop, tears in her eyes. "Look who's back," she announced, gesturing towards the doorway.
Her brother stepped out from the undercroft. "I'm now one of his lordship's messengers. He sent me ahead to notify the steward of our return." He grinned proudly. "Our successful return, I might add. The priest of Rosyth will no longer be a problem."
Jillian hugged her brother hard hug as she whispered, "How long will you be home before his next campaign?"
Gerald patted her back. "This should make everyone really happy. This is our last campaign unto summer. The king knows as well as Lord Crieff that the troops are needed to help with harvesting and with the fall and winter planting. Plus," he grimaced, " we lost a lot of weapons and men against the priests. He'll need to rebuild his forces over the winter.
You can celebrate the Thanksgiving feast next week with an open heart."
That whole week as they prepared for the feast, Jillian sang songs from her home island under her breath. Her songs might not match the ones the other workers sang as they gathered grain, dried fish, and prepared venison for their feast, but she'd know the new songs by next year and be able to sing with them. For now she was just grateful for her family's safety in their new home.
She happily raised her mug at the earl's toast, "We give thanks to the gods for our home, the bounty of the land, and our people who care for it. Above all we give thanks for those who made it through this year's campaigns and remember with gratitude those who are no longer with us.

Debby woke up hungry, but knew she had to go light the fires in the kitchen before she could eat anything. At least the water boys had carried in fresh water for her. She put pans of water on to boil then went to the storehouse and got the bread and sausages and fish that would be breakfast for those who came to the tavern that morning. The cook was in the kitchen by the time she got back with her baskets full. He smiled at her as he took the fish from her and went to the sink to clean them. She cut generous slices from the loaves of bread and sausages, and made a sandwich for herself and for the cook. Between bites they discussed the chores for the day, then she went into the dining hall of the tavern to scrub the tables. Generals, explorers, and geologists sat up late at night talking and smoking and drinking brew long after she'd gone to sleep, and they never clean up after themselves. Soon the tables were all clean and she went outside and gathered some flowers from the red, yellow, and blue flowerbeds to put in vases at each table. She also picked some fresh lettuce from the lettuce beds and carried it all back inside. Cook would use the lettuce in both the sandwiches and for salads to go with the fish. Debby wondered how her sisters Kathy and Sandy were getting along. She stayed so busy at the tavern there was little time for visiting. They both worked in the residences, making beds, doing laundry, and cleaning up after the troops who slept there. Her mom worked in the barracks itself where the new troops were trained. She had the toughest job, cleaning up after them, feeding them, and helping the newest ones when they drank too much brew and got drunk. She often told us that we women are the invisible settlers on the island, no one ever sees us, but we need to always remember that this island would fall apart in 2 shakes if we weren't here to take care of the men. But despite the hard work, Debby was very grateful and knew that her mom and sisters were as well. Grateful for our jobs yes, and grateful that the men protected and provided for us, but even more than that, grateful to be so important to the great work going on here, even if no one ever saw us.
