    Bring Back the Oxford Comma!

We all assume the moderators are in league with the devil, but only the most rational and far-thinking of us suspected the depth of this conspiracy. As evidenced in the latest Mod post on the forums, they are also cavorting with the neo-grammarians, and, more specifically, with the most notorious subgroup of neo-grammarians, the punctuationists.

    Exhibit A:

"...we want to let you know that we are aware of several issues such as locked zones, temporary freezes and an adventure issue with 'Bounty Hunter'."

Those of you who remember fondly the simpler days of yore will notice one glaring omission from this post: BB_Meesherbeans has killed the Oxford comma. Any night now, Fox will have a special report from a roadside rest area, or an out-of-the-way lake, or a dried-up riverbed in the back country explaining the gruesome scene discovered when a runner came upon the remains of the Oxford comma.

Please, let's all observe a moment of silence for this fallen hero of the sentence.

And watch your backs, people. First they came for the Oxford comma. Next it could be the double hyphen, or the semicolon.

    Or you.

Blame Fox News. They have a tiny problem with numbers that apparently has slopped over into punctuation... and moreover, just yesterday they "discovered" that the problem with men is ..... you guessed it .... WOMEN!!!!!

    From Oxford University:

A University of Oxford Writing and Style Guide has decided that writers should, “as a general rule,” avoid using the Oxford comma.
