can't friend my friend

I'm unabe to find my friend in the friend list even though we have both validated our email addresses. Maybe we are on different servers but I'm not sure how to tell which server I'm on. Can someone help? I'm SirCaselot and my friend is JTcasey

I can see Sircaselot in the forun but not on the friend list. why?
