At this time of year for most people, we gather around and hug those dearest to us, laugh and enjoy relative peace. I think we owe that sense of serenity to people in this world who have like minds, minds that consider others needs or safety, while not realising they're disregarding their own, these people are shown to us everyday through news stories huge and horrible, to small notes of acknowledgment, read and accepted by most and leaving some inspired by thier acts of courage towards others.


I would hope to consider myself one such person, but always wonder what my split second final decision would be.

I have the honour of knowing one such individual who proved himself to be one of them. Never would i say life is so whimsical that any one human being is worth more than anothers, or that any living creature less than ourselves doesn't deserve the same consideration, it's not about the value of the life of anyone or anything, but about the selfless sacrifice the minds of these people are capable of.
