My settlers told me that their new year resolution is to come up with a technology to utilize the consumption of deer meat. either that or mob the butcher, because they believe that the butcher are pinching a lot of meat for themselves.

My New Years Resolution is to pick a design on my island and stick with it and stop rearranging every other week. Its driving the people that buff my island insane.

This contest came just in time!! I just received a letter from my slav... euh I mean happy and loving settlers!! They are telling me how wonderfull and inspired my reign is and how lucky they are to have me as their lord and god. (well, actually, it is more god then lord, but they so love the sound of that title.) Here, let me show you some of the great things they wrote me.
Hail to you, Lord and God of the Dragon Isles
O great visionary, guide us,
O all knowing divinity, teach us,
O great and mythical warrior, protect us,
In your light we thrive, in your mercy we are sheltered,
Before your wisdom, we are humbles, we live only to serve,
O mighty titan, our lives are your.
It is our pleasure to anounce to our beloved lord and god that the following plans have been made for the oncoming year:
-The production of gold will rise to 500 per day.
-We will establish a decent production of exotic wood plank.
-Phase 3 of the armament project will begun soon with our production of crossbows.
-Each working settlers will pledge 1 more hour each week to the completion of the Divine Dragon palace.
-School hours for children will increase to 20hour every week due to the increase in knowledge of the last 5 years.
-The pinewood forester have agreed to try to get along better with the pinewood cutter, we hope for a truce and a cease fire in a few month.
-Coal-makers and coal miners have begun a strike to work less every week, they have all been sent to the army as recruits and we are nearly finished with replacing them with younger settlers.
-The marble masons have been very happy of late, with the upgrades you provided them, they say that the work is so easier that they pledge to run double time for the next 3 months.
We hope that your mightyness will be pleased with the resolutions taken by your humble and loyal subject. So pleased that you would spare us the scrifice ceremony. We would also ask, with all respect and devotions, that the death penality for leaving dog poo on public ground be transformed into a sentence of work-for-life.
Well, it is nice to have such beloved slav.. euh settlers ready to do all my wishes... ! There was a bit more to the letter, mainly telling how good, generous and peace-loving i am, but you don't really need to know all that. (although i am tempted, if only by personnal vanity!!) Hum, maybe it's time to stop the sacrifice ceremony, i mean, it IS a waste of perfectly good manpower (and womenpower). hum, so hard to decide.... maybe i'll ask some of my wives..... some of them actually have some intelligence. (Now don't panic after that last comment, there is as many men as there is women on my island who have nothing between the ears, but i am not dating the men.)(And for those who would be offensed that i have 47 wives, well, they all know each other and they all choose to marry me. Of course, being a rich and powerfull god help a bit 
)
Well, there is only one thing to add, wich is my own resolution toward my slav.. euh settlers.
Royal divine announcement:
To my loyal sl..ettlers, by order from your lord and god, from now on, upon reaching adulthood, each citizen will be given a painting of me, your beloved sovereign, so that he may worship me. That painting will be your most valued possession, loosing it or damaging it is punishable by the highest penality under the law (me).

Being Mayor of the settlement hasn't always been an easy task as most would think. I am the one that has to be responsible for everything that happens within the settlement and to the settlers. Settling an area is a tough life and seeing to it that the settlers have the resources to survive and thrive can be a daunting chore. The one thing that I am resolving to do this new year is to see to it that our settlement has more decorations within it. You see I don't believe that seeing to the physical needs of the settlers is enough. To really succeed in having a flourishing settlement I think that the emotional needs of the settlers is just as important. so my new year resolution is to provide more uplifting surroundings by using more decorations.

my gens resolve to be a little nicer to the horses (although they already broke this promise by venturing to the land of the dark brotherhood).
my explorers promise to bring home more epic adventures - i told them they better or i'm reducing their sausage ration.
and a bunch of my settlers plan on learning how to fire cannons. they're certainly getting good at shooting themselves out of them; perhaps that is progress?

My resolution for the new year is to maintain the peace and tranquility that currently reigns over my land and loyal settlers. I also resolve to improve their ability to prosper and make a profit by instituting the fair tax across my land. My settlers will not have to ever worry about the dreadful tax collectors moving to our island

My settlers are resolving to be more active in assisting my guild and being more active in trading buffs with friends so that everyone benefits!

Solemnly, the Town Crier quietly read the latest message from the Mayor of Kalimar. The many people who gathered in curious anticipation, watching. Slowly a smile appeared across his usually wry lips. his eyes bright as he lifted his head to look out over the throng.
"HEAR YE! HEAR YE! The Gracious and Benevolent Mayor of Kalimar has hence set-forth the following personal resolution toward our fine citizens! He has henceforth decreed he will strive to ensure all citizens will live in better homes, eat better food and pay less taxes in the coming year! He will strive to rid the lands our lands, with the aide of our brave military, of the bandits, pirates, witches and all wrong-doers who threaten the happiness of our fine island!
Finally, he wishes to each citizen the best, happiest and healthiest coming New Year!*
The crowd looked in wonder at hearing the latest decree, smiles and glad feelings showing on their ruddy, weather-pocked faces as they slowly went about thgeir daily activities.

I resolve to get back at my friend for all the goofy tricks she's played on me this year by beating the crumpets out of her when we get PvP. She'll never see it coming... unless she reads my post...
