Thumbs down Locked out of quests forever

Since the new 'Quest Book' system was implemented some weeks ago, a few bugs have been fixed, but there is one serious problem in my opinion. That is being locked out of quests because your level is too *high*.

Here is what is wrong with that picture:

    (1) Using myself as an example, I was already level 23 before the implementation. But some 'long chain' quests can only be completed by level 21 players, & others can only be completed by level 22 or 23 players. By the time I had completed the early parts of a 'long chain,' I was promoted to level 24 and up, and was locked out of the later parts of the chain.

    (2) Even players who started the game after the Quest Book came in, are currently able, without level restrictions, to do the early parts of several long chains, before they discover they are locked out of finishing the chain because their level has become too high. This can happen because they gain experience from clearing the island or doing their first adventure before they reach the quests that have level restrictions. In many cases, they have paid resources that exceeded their rewards during the early parts of the chain, but are unable to get the nicer payoff for completing the whole chain (such as a noble deed). While people were completing the early parts of a chain, perhaps they did not even realize there were level restrictions to finish the chain. Because the level restrictions were not disclosed from the beginning -- who is going to hover over a quest with a lock on it and read the 'tool-tip'? -- players who paid resources and cannot finish a chain should be *refunded their resources* if you are not going to lift the upper level restrictions. That is simple fairness and equity. The opposite is called 'bait and switch.'

    (3) Maximum level restrictions for quests, or narrow ranges of levels for quests, are unreasonable in and of themselves. Players have different styles of developing their island, different emphases on resources & weapons, and not everyone can be expected to fit into the program of developing what you are asking at a specific level. You should revise these, especially in the case of single level quests with no range of levels at all (such as 21 - 21, or 32 - 32). In my opinion, a minimum level for a quest is fine, but there should be no maximum level for any quest.

    (4) The 'Main Quests' section of the Quest Book remains cluttered with quests that can never be completed once a player is past a certain level. If you decide my argument is invalid, then you should make it possible to remove this clutter. I do not want to forever be reminded that there are quests I didn't complete and can never complete, and I do not want to navigate around the clutter. If this clutter was removed, I would not have to scroll my Quest Book at all.

I hope that some other players will happen to read this post and comment on it.

I made a comment to BB_DXTed (I think, it could have been one of the other BBs I suppose) a while back letting them know about the problems with the quests. They let me know that the BBs were also hoping for a fix and they thought (meaning it's not certain and "don't quote them on this") that there would be a fix in the future that might give us the items for the quests we got locked out of...

I think there can be level restrictions for things - just think of all the level 50's having to do things from level 1 (that would feel bizarre to them!) - they'd just need to be more flexible ranges than the "you must be this one level to unlock"! I am agreement with you on the clutter issue - I'm a bit of a neat freak when it comes to these sorts of things and I very much dislike seeing all these quests that I got locked out of that I can no longer complete or get out of my quest book!

there's also the exo baskets, drill plans and noble deed you miss out on from being too high a level when the new quest system was implemented

I know Zallera, that's why I'm right there with the BBs and hoping the devs will just "give" us the goodies even though we got locked out of completing the quest (or they'll make it so we can complete it - basically so long as we get the goodies I'll be happy).

Another thought... what quest(s) are we missing out on because we get locked out of one. I also have been locked out of the "First strike units" quest. Please devs help!

    Merely a suggestion-
While the Servers are brought down... perhaps... Dev's could try this during the next phase planned to pull Ares down, they could do this becuz Ares is sooooo New.... Shouldn't be that hard to do....

Jump it back a month or soooo.... and then jump it back to its current state, and then implement the new phase intended...

ok is my suggestion (make this happen pls) !!! (in the order specified though)...

(attempting here to get them thinking in another direction to solve this issue)
(remember this is just a suggestion).

BTW - I too am stuck unable to complete the quests. I too sent ticket... Mine r the same ones every1 has. Its very frustrating, u go thru all the trouble to clear sectors, lol n that quest still remains unsatisfied.
