    Does your game go dormant?

Does your game stop working when you don't log in for a few days? I went on vacation for 5 days and made sure my fields were all full, mines were all new, and I had room in my warehouses. I figured I'd come back to empty fields, exhausted marble mines, and truck loads of unused resources but no! It's quite clear the game sat dormant for a few of the days I was out. Or was there a problem around Xmas/New Years with the servers?

I can confirm (at least 4 months ago) that this does in fact happen. I have no idea when it happens.. Somewhere between 48/72 hours or so.

I went on a cruise for 7 days. I expected to come back to a dead island. No fields, no mines, out of all ore, etc.. However, i was pleasantly surprised to come back to a few Iron mines, i still had plenty of ore saved up.

Maybe we can get some BB words of wisdom. I scoured the patch notes and wasn't able to find anything.

If you do not log into your game for over 24 hours, and no one else enters and buffs your island, it will put itself to sleep. Any activity, though, and it will wake itself back up.

Exactly what SP said, especially the buffing part. Your friends can come and go as they please, but if one of them buffs a workyard, your island starts back up. In this instance, I'd prefer my island to go to sleep, less work to do when you come back.

I hadn't noticed prior to today, but I was off for only a couple hours, and when I signed back on, my geologists still hadn't completed their search (one should have taken an hour and the other 30 minutes; neither had advanced). I'm not sure about resource, but the geologists is a sure thing. Hadn't noticed before. So it appears it not just being off for extended times.

actually the geologist SHOULD finish his current search when you log off. however i've seen others complain bout the geo glitching on them when they log out. i would say send in a support ticket, but the response will probably be 'send a screenshot'. some of the things i've heard of them wanting a screenshot for just baffles me lol

My Geos do that often, but I just write it off as they got lost, or met up with some female settlers in the woods, as I never see female settlers, on my island, but the population grows, and I do not think they have the technology to clone themselves

Geos not returning on time is a known bug that's currently being tested on the test server.

The next version (mid of February) will include several fixes. Some of the planned tasks are already done, but need to be tested before deploying them to our live servers. Among other issues being resolved, a timing issue will be fixed (e.g. that your geologist returns after the correct search time).
After the test server is done with it's cycle the update should hit live servers on Feb 21st.

My Explorers also have the same timing problem, though not as often. Since I use 24 hours searches, and have a limited time window early in the morning during the week, I send the explorers out during the beginning of that time frame and watch for them later in the week, but occasionally they will get an hour or so added to the time they take.
