[Giveaway] The Swain departs from The Settlers Online
Hello Ares.
Some of you know me. Most of you don't. I am Swaintasm, only member of the [F1] guild Veritas. I've been here since the beginning of the server's launch. Most notably I'm known for my marketeering in the game, having amassed a great deal of wealth in a fairly short period of time. But as of today I am finished with what TSO has to offer me. With this, I have torn down the infrastructure of Swain Enterprises, leaving only my storehouses as a remnant of the island's former glory.
But I won't leave without trying to be charitable. After all, minus the fact that I took most of your coins, I did sell at under-reasonable prices all of the time. Most of my bulk buyers can attest to that. So before I'm gone for good, I will be randomly posting up trades and asking a few Swain-trivia questions here from time to time. These are the things that I am getting rid of:
• 37 Noble Residence Deeds (6 Left)
• 5 Silos (2 Left)
• 17 Watermills (6 Left)
• 140,000 Hardwood Planks (0 Left)
• 140,000 Coal (0 Left)
• 130,000 Pinewood Logs (0 Left)
• 120,000 Water (0 Left)
• 100,000 Marble (0K Left)
• 100,000 Pinewood Planks (0 Left)
• 100,000 Hardwood Logs (0 Left)
• 60,000 Stone (0 Left)
• 50,000 Tools (25K Left)
• 45,000 Brew (20K Left)
• 45,000 Bread (0K Left)
• 35,000 Horses (20K Left)
• 30,000 Flour (0 Left)
• 25,000 Bronze Swords (10K Left)
• 25,000 Wheat (0 Left)
• 10,000 Sausages (0 Left)
• 10,000 Longbows (0 Left)
• 3,000 Granite (0 Left)
• 1,000 Steel Swords (0 Left)
• 6 Improved Drill Plans (3 Left)
• Misc. Buffs
• Misc. Low Level Adventures
• Misc. Decorations
I wish I could give away my Savage Scouts, Jolly Geologists, and Recycling Manufactories but they aren't tradable.
I will not be giving away my Gold Coin stock. That's my legacy here. Me reaching that amount was also finishing my goal in this game. My contacts (that are remaining) have a right to 10,000 Gold Coins each should they reach level 50. ChasmanicII is the first to do this. A fun fact though:
My max storage is 148,600. It was a little higher, but when I went demolish-crazy I accidentally deleted two storehouses too. I have enough resources to build 293 more storehouses and upgrade them all to level 3 granting 439,500 more storage. That takes 23,440 Pinewood Planks and 23,440 Stone as well as 29.1 hours of building time (each one takes 5:30 to build) for the initial building. After that it would then take 123,060 Hardwood Planks as well as 73,250 Marble. Looking good so far. To upgrade them all to level 4 would then take 146,500 GC and another 87,900 Marble. The end result would be a grand total of 879,000 additional storage onto my current 148,600. That's right. Had I another 60,000 or so Marble I would have had the required materials to break 1,000,000 storage. That would have been a fun project.
Anyways, check out this thread from time to time as well as the trade scales. I'll sometimes list one of the items on the list there for 1 Fish, so whoever snags it, snags it. For the rest of the stuff though, I'll occasionally post a trivia question on this thread. First response, of course, gets the prize. There might be miscellaneous other things to get rewards. I don't know yet. This is all improv.
This is The Swain, signing out.

The first trivia question that I asked at 11:30 AM was: How many storehouses do I have? The three players who guessed correctly were BrendaPao, snickit, and KingVapor. They each had an opportunity to pick one of the following:
• 5 Noble Residence Deeds
• 1 Silo
• 1 Watermill
• 20,000 HWP
• 20,000 Marble
The answer was [42] storehouses.
Best of luck in future endeavours,

I know it would take a lot longer. Your prices are far more stable than in Ares. I played the game for the marketing aspect. Some regret here and there not being more adventurous (heh) but I'm content with what I've done. Maybe one day in the future I'll play the game to adventure.
The second trivia question that I asked at 10:20 PM was: Who was a past member of the [F1] guild Veritas other than myself? The two players who guessed correctly were Khamuul and Milliecent. They each had an opportunity to pick one of the following:
• 10 Noble Residence Deeds
• 2 Watermills
• 40,000 Hardwood Planks
• 35,000 Marble
Both players answered with Bwildered. A player named Beanrawr went on to remind me there was a third (the original first other member) player who was in Veritas, Llanwellyn, and for that earned 3 Watermills. There was still one more player out there who was a member of Veritas. He was in it for it longer than anyone else other than me. Erikthered71 correctly guessed The_Demfe and won 5 Watermills.
As I asked this question, I also posted the 10,000 Sausages on the trade scales for 1 Pinewood Log. Beanrawr was hasty and claimed it before anybody else.
A little bit after before I retired for the night I then posted two lots of 5,000 Longbows for 1 Pinewood Log. Beanrawr once again showed an extreme ability in finding my offers and claimed one of the Longbow packages. yopiter claimed the other.
Then I gave Depluke a Watermill because he was sad he had bad internet and made me laugh.
Best of luck in future endeavours,
• Swain

The third question that I asked at 11:15 AM EST was: Before I founded the [F1] guild Veritas, I was a member of only one other guild. Identify this guild by mailing me its name in-game. The three players who guessed correctly were Milliecent, Seanmick12, and snikit. They each had an opportunity to pick one of the following:
• 3 Noble Residence Deeds
• 15,000 Bread
• 15,000 Brew
• 15,000 Tools
• 20,000 Marble
• 35,000 Hardwood Planks
Cauldron received a consolation prize of 1,000 Steel Swords for correctly answering the trivia question (but not at the same time).
For this trivia's scale postings, spudseq claimed 3,000 Granite for 1 Pinewood Log. At the same time (almost simultaneously) barstoolbrew, Shalmaneser, Seanmick12, and snikit each claimed a lot of 25,000 Hardwood Logs for 1 Pinewood Log.
After the prizes were logged or allocated, I then took to the trade scales one more time to dump basic materials into the market. Seanmick12, trad989, barstoolbrew, and Yukon_Sven each claimed a lot of 25,000 Pinewood Planks. Then, barstoolbrew and UltimateSatchel claimed one of the two lots of 30,000 Stone. Finally, Shendare and barstoolbrew claimed one of two lots of 65,000 Pinewood Logs. The lesson here folks is barstoolbrew is a fast finger on the refresh button.
Best of luck in future endeavours,
• Swain

Thanks again for the PWP. For someone so new to the game it is an enormous windfall. Even if it doesn't seem like a lot to some people, its a lot for me.
Thanks, be well Swain.

The fourth question that I asked at 9:00 PM EST was: What is the minimum number of Recruits you can attack an enemy camp of 60 Guard Dogs and 120 Rangers with to absolutely ensure victory? The answer was 740 (148 Recruits, multiplied by five). In case of error, I used the number that I personally got as the correct answer (I spent a while punching in numbers - this is the answer I received correct the most numerous times).
This is the link to the combat simulator: Click
After they figured out the number, they had to multiply it by five and mail me the answer in-game.
The first five had the choice of one the following:
• Advanced Starter Kit: 60,000 Hardwood Planks & 30,000 Marble
• Partygoer's Kit: 25,000 Brew & 30,000 Bread & 5 Noble Residence Deeds
• General's Kit: 15,000 Bronze Swords & 15,000 Horses & 3 Improved Drill Plans & 2 Traitors (Adventure)
• Survivor's Kit: 60,000 Water & 25,000 Tools & 70,000 Coal & 3 Cookies
• Labourer's Kit: 60,000 Water & 25,000 Wheat & 30,000 Flour & 70,000 Coal & 5 Roasted Ducks & 4 Exotic Fruit Baskets
• Architect's Kit: 3 Noble Residence Deeds & 1 Silo & 2 Watermills & Pavilion (Decoration)
The following five players (in order) won:
• Keriss (Architect's Kit)
• kinros (Advanced Starter Kit)
• Calixte (General's Kit)
• Gibbson (Partygoer's Kit)
• Atla_N (Labourer's Kit)
I felt bad that OswinOswald sent in the correct answer practically right after everyone else so he got a consolation prize. He won the Survivor's Kit. How fitting.
Finally at 10:10 PM EST I put up four lots of 20,000 Hardwood Planks for 1 Pinewood Log. These ladies and gentlemen claimed them:
• yopiter
• Dogfoodz
• BP_empire
• c0nquistador
Best of luck in future endeavours,
• Swain
