When you're away and a friend buffs a building, you get a mail saying who it was. But when you're logged in, you don't. I leave myself logged in a lot when I'm not actually at the computer - go get a snack, read the forum, run a battle sim or a guide in another browser tab, whatever.
Someone just used a couple baskets on me but I can't tell who. I'd like to repay the favor.
Whispering out to each friend who is online seems tedious. I already posted to the global chat, but no replies yet.
