Son of Veld (SOV) Adventure by Theopompos

    Son of Veld

    This guide is provided byTheopompos

The military units required to complete this adventure will vary depending on what units you want to use.

However, this guide was created to show you how to use the least expensive type of units.

The cheapest army to produce is Recruits.

You should use as many Recruits as you can to complete this adventure or any adventure.

Some players prefer to use other military units.

However, they cost more to produce and though your loss overall in units will be around (10% - 25%) the cost production time ratio is more.

Thus you actually have to pay a higher price for this adventure.

Other adventures will require more expensive units so it is best to save them until you really need them.

You will have up to 7 days to complete this adventure.

If you plan correctly, as listed below, you should be able to complete this adventure in less than 3 days.

The way you do this is by preparation. That is the key. I had 50% of my army ready before I started and the rest I built along the way. This is why it took several days to complete this adventure.

I used multiple Generals so that I could shuttle army units at a faster pace to the adventure.

For this adventure you should have available:
    1- 3 Generals and 2500 Recruits, 500 Militia, 250 Cavalry, 250 Soldiers and 100 Longbow and/or Crossbows.

Average Losses: 2300 Recruits, 430 Militia and 225 Calvary and 210 Soldiers.

You should only have 32 -34 attacks needed to complete this adventure.

You will be able to skip 10 -12 camps for this adventure.

The experience points you will receive for this adventure at this time: 33440.

The points ration verses units expended make this adventure not a very good adventure to run if you are looking for experience points.
The loot you receive makes this adventure a bit more acceptable.

These points may vary from time to time as the programmers make adjustments to said adventure.

The loot for this adventure may be:

There is one additional spot available for a 2nd player if you want to share this adventure either as Jr Loot Partner or as a equal partner. You will each get your own Loot and you will share the Experience points depending on who does what.

This adventure is rated 6 out of 10 relating to difficulty.

Disclaimer: I have a method to my madness for this adventure. I am skipping all around the map in order to take out the weakest camps first that only take 1 attack. Then I will come back to the harder camps that take multiple attacks. This saved me time not having to wait for recover of my Generals as much to get most of the adventure done. So this adventure and tutorial is a bit different than the others I have posted.

    Map # 1 - Arrival Destination

Now you can start your run in the sector you arrive at or you can move your General like I did and start at the top of the map.

Map # 2 – Relocate General to begin your attack

You will be able to skip 1 -2 camps in this sector. 1 camp without "Blocking" 2 camps if you use "Blocking" for one attack.

    Map # 3 – 1st attack - 75 Recruits, 2 Soldiers, 101Cavalry and 22 Longbow (Losses 60 - 75 Recruits)
    Option: 100 Recruits and 100 Cavalry (Losses between 70 - 80 Recruits).
Option: Use 200 Recruits (Losses between 75 - 120 Recruits). (X Rule Applies)

The average loss was 75 Recruits the 1st time I ran this adventure.
The average loss was 76 Recruits the 2nd time I ran this adventure.
The average loss was 72 Recruits the 3rd time I ran this adventure.
The average loss was 62 Recruits the 4th time I ran this adventure. (new army values)
The average loss was 63 Recruits the 5th time I ran this adventure. (new army values)

Be careful here your General will get intercepted by the camp to the east.
You can try a "Blocking" tactic here if you are using multiple Generals right now.
Please note that if you use a blocking tactic you will lose your blocking general for 4 hours as it will have to recovery.
The cost ratio is 10 recruits for blocking general and 4 hours recovery verses 70 - 80 recruits or a savings of approximately 60 - 70 recruits.

Blocking - Send 10 recruits to the camp using the blue line. It is 23 paces to the camp from the location on the map. Send this general first.
Now it is 16 paces for your main general to attack the leader camp. Send
You want to time the attack by taking the 23 paces subtracting the 16 paces = 7 paces difference.
So you want to send your blocking general first and you want to count the paces (Red Flags/Circles) until it reaches the 7 mark.
Then send your main general with 105 recruits and 95 soldiers.
When you blocking general gets to the second cactus as indicated at the black arrow send your general to take out the leader camp.

    Or following the next step.

    Map # 4 – attack - 200 Recruits (Losses between 63 - 85 Recruits)
Option: 80 Recruits and 118 Soldiers

The average loss was 74 Recruits the 1st time I ran this adventure.
The average loss was 75 Recruits the 2nd time I ran this adventure.
The average loss was 74 Recruits the 3rd time I ran this adventure.
The average loss was 74 Recruits the 4th time I ran this adventure. (new army values).

Then take out the leader camp. (Disregard the blue line here.)

    Map # 4A – 2nd attack - 105 Recruits and 95 Soldiers (Losses between 85 - 95 Recruits)
    Option: 75 Recruits, 25 Militia and 100 Soldiers (Losses between 75 Recruits and 2 - 15 Militia)
    Option: Use 100 Recruits, 50 Militia and 50 Bows (Losses between 61 - 77 Recruits and 5 - 10 Bows). (X Rule Applies)

The average loss was 75 Recruits and 8 Militia the 1st time I ran this adventure.
The average loss was 75 Recruits and 9 Militia the 2nd time I ran this adventure.
The average loss was 75 Recruits and 8 Militia the 3rd time I ran this adventure.
The average loss was 73 Recruits the 4th time I ran this adventure. (new army values).

    Map - 3rd attack 60 Recruits, 1 Soldier, 105 Cavalry and 34 Longbow (Losses 52 - 60 Recruits)

The average loss was 52 Recruits the 1st time I ran this adventure.
The average loss was 52 Recruits the 2nd time I ran this adventure.
The average loss was 52 Recruits the 3rd time I ran this adventure.
The average loss was 60 Recruits the 4th time I ran this adventure.

    Map - 4th attack 99 Recruits and 101 Militia (Losses 99 Recruits and 50 - 60 Militia)
    Option: 75 Recruits, 75 Militia and 50 Soldiers (Losses 75 Recruits and 70 - 75 Militia)

The average loss was 75 Recruits and 75 Militia the 1st time I ran this adventure.
The average loss was 75 Recruits and 74 Militia the 2nd time I ran this adventure.
The average loss was 75 Recruits and 74 Militia the 3rd time I ran this adventure.
The average loss was 99 Recruits and 44 Militia the 4th time I ran this adventure. (new army value)

    You may Skip this camp

    Map 5th attack 47 Recruits and 153 Soldiers (Losses 43 - 47 Recruits)

The average loss was 44 Recruits the 1st time I ran this adventure.
The average loss was 45 Recruits the 2nd time I ran this adventure.
The average loss was 45 Recruits the 3rd time I ran this adventure.
The average loss was 45 Recruits the 4th time I ran this adventure.

Blocking move. Blocking - Send 10 recruits to the camp using the blue line. When your general reaches the black arrow mark send your attacking general.
You will save 65 recruits but your general will have to recover for 4 hours.

    Or follow the below.

    Map 6th attack 91 Recruits and 109 Soldiers (Losses 70 - 80 Recruits)

The average loss was 75 Recruits the 1st time I ran this adventure.
The average loss was 75 Recruits the 2nd time I ran this adventure.
The average loss was 76 Recruits the 3rd time I ran this adventure.
The average loss was 78 Recruits the 4th time I ran this adventure.

    Map 7th attack 100 Militia and 100 Cavalry (Losses 70 - 88 Militia)
    Option: 110 recruits, 35 Soldiers and 55 Calvary (Losses 110 Recruits and 4 - 20 Soldiers)

The average loss was 73 Militia the 1st time I ran this adventure.
The average loss was 74 Militia the 2nd time I ran this adventure.
The average loss was 73 Militia the 3rd time I ran this adventure.
The average loss was 110 Recruits and 11 Soldiers the 4th time I ran this adventure.

Map -Time to move your General to a new location

Here if you position your general correctly you will be able to move right between both camps and take out the leader camp. If you get caught and intercepted retreat and try again. You must position your camp as I have in the same spot to thread the needle. This will take two attempts to take out this camp. Save this attack for later in the game. You can leave this attack for now, unless you want to use 2 Generals and have one have to recover for 4 hours and go after the southern camps listed in Map #16. It is all about speed of completion for this adventure and it is better to get going.

    Send 85 Recruits and 115 Soldiers (Losses 74 - 78 Recruits)

Map # 13 - You will be able to skip the following camps in this sector.

The average loss was 39 Recruits. (New Stats)

Now you will need to use multiple general for the next several attacks as you have already taken out the easy camps. I will use 4 generals for the next few camps and then let them recovery overnight. If you can plan this right and have at least 4 Generals you can attack these camps before you finish for the evening then you can let them recovery and you can build more army overnight at the same time and start again the next day. If you only have 1 General it will take you about 24 hours to attack the next 3 bandit leader camps. The following is a 2 wave attack once you are done you will also take out two other bandits camps in this sector and will be able to move on to the next sector and next double attack.

This attack you can accomplish in 1 wave if you are willing to lose about 75 Soldiers or you can take the cheaper way out and do it in 2 waves and lose less expensive units. Your choice I have done both below.

If you used the "Blocking" tactic listed on Map # 20 above then you can skip this map and go to the next map.

    Map # 25 – 20th attack - Singe Wave - 100 Recruit and 100 Soldiers

General in Blue is in recover so I am using a 3rd General for the next attack to speed up time.
