How to Get the Veteral General (max egg collection) during the Easter Event ??

Does anyone have advice for novice players (level 20 -30) on how to get enough eggs during the Easter event to get the veteran general? (Apart from simply buying the eggs w gems.)

Should I spend my limited gold on getting another explorer to collect extra eggs, or should I focus on ensuring my unit / troop production is maxed so that I can complete the adventures?

Should I keep leveling so that I can do the mid level quests, or should I stop leveling and focus on saving up resources so that I can be sure to complete the lower level quest lines?

If anyone has been able to get a general from a previous event, any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Edit - hmmm, I hate self inflicted posting errors. Any one know how I can fix the title of the post? I mean a Veteral General is an interesting rhyme, but for a post title, its a little bit wonky.

There are four ways to get Eggs:
    1. Easter Egg Quests
    2. Explorer finds
    3. Trade
    4. Gems

Yes, you should get another explorer. He will find more eggs! Longer treasure hunts results in better % of finding eggs.
No troops are needed for the Easter Adventures, it's an Egg Hunt. So, there is no worry about ensuring your troop production is maxed to complete the adventures.
Leveling is important, but higher quest lines does not mean more eggs.

If you want the Veteran, you will need to trade with other players because there is a limit on # of eggs you can collect from the Easter Adventures.

Thanks for the tips. Wasn't sure if the Easter Egg adventures would require lots of troops. I would surmise that I should keep working on maximizing resource generation to trade for eggs.

I agree with Evil_J. First priorty is getting Vet general. He will save you many troops when doing adventures.

If you can afford an explorer NOW get it. Search for maps at as high a level as you can, and trade them for gold which you use to buy eggs when Easter starts. That way you start collecting gold NOW.

If it is like last year, the easter "adventures" is nothing but clicking on a map where eggs are hiding. No troops required.

I just finished my first Easter Quest chain on the test servers. On test, I am only level 19. The quest chain net a total of 150 eggs.

Supposedly we will get a new quest chain every 5 days.

Since the event will last 21 days, it looks like we will be able to squeeze in a max of 5 quest chains for a total of 750 eggs from quests (assuming every quest chain will net 150 eggs).

If the Treasure search return rate is the same as last year, the best return was on the very long search for 100% chance of 7 eggs. Lower levels will get lower average results (and random). So figure max return rate of 3.5 eggs/day/Tavern Explorer and 7 eggs/day/Gem purchased Explorer. However, since they changed the xmas present drop rate this year, they may very well have changed the egg drop rate as well. I have not yet tested this on the test servers, having trouble getting/staying connected now.

Of course, things may still change as well.

Did you include the extra Adventure quest chain you can buy for 1 Fish? That should add another possible 150? Is that how you got 5 quests, or did you get 5 assuming that if you started the last one on day 21 you could complete it and get all the eggs for that one as well?

Assuming you can run 5 quests and add one more as a purchase... 150 x 6 = 900. 3.5 x 21 = 74. Multiply 74 by the number of regular explorers. Speedy Explorer nets 7 x 21 = 148. If you have regular explorer, a speedy explorer, run all quests at max efficiency and buy the extra one, then you can max out at (74 + 148 + 900) 1122. To get the General you would have to Trade for an additional 228.

    Also -

Does anyone know what the following quote from the Easter Preview means?

"Important: if you finish the Easter adventure without Easter quest running, you will receive NO REWARD."

Does this mean that if you do get that last quest on day 21 you have to have it complete before the end of the day?

they include the adventures being buyable for 1fish because there were problems last year with players having the quest to complete the adventure active, but not receiving the required adventure. you only get eggs as a reward for finishing the 'adventure' (egg hunt) if you have the corresponding quest active in your quest book. so the adventues you can buy with 1 fish really are only there in case your game glitches out and doesnt send you the correct adventure at the correct time.
