    Suggestions PvP!

    PvP; Love it or hate it, its coming.

    So, let's make a list of suggestions to the Dev's that sing our tune!

    1. New islands

    A: These islands are separate from your home island.
    B: You can build normal buildings as well as (or) titanium and granite mines.
    C: A way to limit the success of the island and its users would be a limit on building licenses.
    D: In order to find these Islands would be linked to your explorer.

    2. PvP introduced

    A: Lots of resources is being collected on this island right? So why not have a pillaging fest and introduce PvP?
    B: The Player who owns the Island may build a Castle, this castle will be the main storage house As well as the leader "camp".
    C: The Defender may also build forts, the equivalent of a camp on the Island to limit enemy players attacks.
    D: In a way to limit the Defenders success, the camps not only count as building licenses, but have a daily fee.

    3. The rewards

    A: The attackers will gain complete control over the island, but only for a week. Then the original owner will be restored his island.
    B: The attackers will gain the whole storehouse but, cannot build anything since he will have to return the island within the week.
    C: Another option is to raze the island, but I don't know about this idea, since the defender would have to start from scratch.

    4. Big Brother Guild

    A: Now don't you just hate it when that guy keeps attacking you over and over? Resolve the conflict by attacking him with a loving slap from Big Brother.
    B: lol but hey why not? Let's let guilds have their own Island, so large that it can hold up to 100 camps. (1 camp per member)
    C: With a Castle, moats, cannons and the camps, only a War happy Guild could pull off these attacks.
    D: What could make guilds a tempting offer for war? How about the members can invest resources including gc (and gc?) and the guild "bank" will have a weekly interest. Now if one was to successfully attack the Castle, one gets the spoils.
    E: to be fair to the attackers, once a formal attack starts on the Island, no-one may remove anything from the castle, and the castle goes into lockdown.

    Break time! whats your idea?

    I am not a big fan of PvP. However I do see the need for some form of PvP to be added to the game to keep it
    interesting. I like the island idea and would like to present a variation.

    A large number of small islands are created. Each of these islands have a granite ore location and a titanium ore
    location. A new type of sea going explorer is available. This explorer can find one of these islands after a very
    long search. Once found a general can set sail for the island carrying a geologist who will locate the ore. Once
    located mines can be built.

    To defend the island and the mines a fort can be built. It will have 5 levels, each level increasing the hit points
    of the defenders army stationed in the fort by a increasing percentage. The maximum number of troops to occupy the
    fort will be the general's capacity (200-250). The production of the mines will be automatically shipped to the owners home island. Only one fort allowed on the island.

    Another player who would like to capture the an island and mines can send an army to attack the island and fort.
    First the aggressor must locate the island by sending sea going explorer on a long search. This explorer can find one
    of three things: An unexplored island, an owned island or nothing. The aggressor then can send his armies to the
    owned island in a long voyage. If the island is unexplored he may take it over by building a fort, locating the ore and building mines.

    The combat rules are adjusted to favor the defender because his troops can't be identified while in the fort. The attacker must attack blind, but can have several generals and troops in reserve to make several attacks. The defenders know the island well and can see the attackers troops and will know the compostion of the attacking army.

    There are of course a lot of details to be developed but the concept is that there is a reward to attacking and defeating the defender, the ore. At the same time no one gets their main island damaged. No one is forced to attack or search for islands to take over.

    I would be interested in any thoughts about this concept.

    I like Wimpys idea if we are to have PvP. Some incentive besides just fighting seems like a good idea to me. I have quit other games because they ended up being only about bragging rights. If I work for something, I will try to defend it. and getting granite and titanium ore wood be nice. It wouldn't hurt to have some exotic wood trees, either. Of course if the levels stop at 50, I don't know how much granite, etc. we will need.

    Just some thoughts from someone who likes building more than fighting.

    Definitely need a pvp island. Once you reach the highest level and get all your buildings to 5 what is the point of the game if you can't conquer and spread. We will need something to gain or it will get stale.

    Maybe for the purpose of a PVP. We have a disposable island that you travel to fight over and then win the resources and return home.

    I was watching Godus gameplay video interview, and the developer Peter was describing a PvP battle that sounded interesting to me. Basically you go to an island and bring in limited resources and then fight to earn whatever you win from that island and return home.


    I hate managing more than 1 city/island etc. I've played Travian and Lords of Ultima- and it was just annoying to have so many cities to manage.

    Possibly have some sort of "tower" or building that grows in level each time you win a battle. Or a special resource that you win from the battles to take home to upgrade a monument or building with to show off your awesomeness. Maybe this building provides a small population growth.

    I agree, running 2 islands is very hard, i have done it in the past, running as much as 3 servers all at the same time, and it is impossible to evenly work on all three.

    Now there are 2 things i would like to see to remedy this issue:

    #1 is to rebalance the game to achieve simplicity so that you don't have to work as hard. (I.e. more resources in mines, takes longer to break down, ect...)

    Ya right, i didn't think i could fool anyone there.

    #2 make the PvP island small. I am thinking as small as 3 sectors. (hey remember a few months ago the Lvl 50's where asking for more land???)

    I am working on a new PvP page, to update this old one and provide some artwork to show off how it could work.

    The "Tower" suggestion would be to me a Castle. As for a monument, i would like a K/D Statue on your island, one where attackers may think twice if you're a killer.

    Also remember, this is TSO, not Travian or Lords of Ultima. While its nice to take their ideas and add them here, we must work outside the box.

    Many players including myself have checked the China PvP. We all agree that it is both lame, and we also know that the Developer Team working with The German Dev Team (if i am correct, the German Dev's control the USA servers) is unlikely at best.

    More likely, there would be a new version of PvP, which would be given to us. As i said in post above, i am working on a new idea on how PvP could work.

    At the end of the day, even if China's PvP did come to us, it would probably be upgraded later to a more robust version. (and likeable)

    There are a lot of things that make developing PvP for TSO very hard. Just take the fact that the game runs 24/7, even when the players aren't here.
    If something can go wrong, it will.
