Developers: How to Fix BAD LUCK in Quests

You guys need to program in a 'fail safe' for the worst case scenario of Bad Luck. These Quests that require "X" granite for adventures is an example of really bad design.

Some people might get it in their first shot. But some people might never get it at all if they keep getting strings of bad luck. Especially the ones where granite is 33% chance instead of 50% chance.

Failing the first time is okay. Failing the second time starts becoming frustrating. Failing the third time is demoralizing. After that it becomes rage quit territory. Since its theortically possibly to never get granite at all with strings of bad luck.

I would fix this the require of the quest says get X granite in 1 adventure or Y exotic wood in 3 adventures.
Or generically "X" granite OR "Y" exotic wood. Where the X value is the minimum value you can get from adventures. and the Y value is the minimum cummulative total of 3 adventures of exotic wood combined.

At least this will ensure players to get the quest done in a timely fashion.

You mean X is the maximum you can get from 1 adventure right?

Look, Just like i said in another threat.

It doesn't matter if its called "LUCK"... Its a 33.3% Chance... Luck has nothing to do with it. You have a chance on getting it and you have a 66.3% chance of not getting it. It's the same thing for Gambling. You take the risk into your own hands and if you don't get it. You don't get it no need to complain about it really. There is probably people that got everything on the first try and people that had to do it 20 Times.

It's like rolling a dice. If you get a 1 You get Granite, If you Roll a 6 you get Exotic wood Logs.

Same with other Adventures. Roll 1: Granite. Roll 2: Granite. Roll 3: Exotic wood Logs. Roll 4: Exotic Wood Logs. Roll 5: Titanium Ore. Roll 6: Titanium Ore.

So its just random Chances. Random throwing the dice. No one will know what it will land on.

I think everyone is arguing the wrong things here. No one really has an issue with the odds of getting granite, at least they shouldn't. The odds of getting granite depend on the adventure and should be random.

But putting the requirement to get granite from extra long treasure searches and multiple adventures into a limited-time quest chain was not well thought out. If the quest chain was open-ended then that is fine... I personally think they should change Four Winds to have no time limit at this point given the frustration it has caused among players for a lot of different reasons.

Well, You have like 3 Weeks to complete the Event Quest. It's also not ment to be easy sense you are getting 500 Gems from it.

Spoken like one who always rolls 1s and 2s lol

-Ive personally run Surprise Attack more than 10 times, not including all the Loot Spots Ive purchased. I am all for the concept of these Quests and really like the fact that they are harder to complete than your day-to-day "Collect 100 Bronze Bars" Quests. Im quite willing to put forth the extra effort required to get a decent Reward. That being said....come on....10 times and still no Granite?? Really?? There HAS to be SOMETHING that could be done about this.

I understand, but it took my explorers a week to bring back 30 granite from the very long treasure search, so I was starting behind. Then my buff 175 baskets on friends buildings wasn't counting them all, I got stuck on 67 for a day, my support ticket said "we're working on it, be patient" despite the time limit, so I buffed until I got to 175 even though I use over 250 baskets on it.

And I did not already have all the expert buildings built, so I'm having to acquire granite to build them all. A much harder quest for me than for players that got lucky on the treasure search and already had the buildings built. In effect, it's free gems for players that already had the buildings built and/or got lucky with granite.

I'm still trying, but when I don't finish, I'll have to decide if I want to continue playing as clearly I am not in the "rich get richer" category of players.

That's what im saying. The quests arn't depended on Luck. Luck has nothing to do with it. I'm just saying if like your flipping a coin, it is a possiblty that it will land on heads 5 times. Or could land on tails 10 times.

Sadly, I dont get 1 or 2's all the time. There has some adventures that I would get Exotic Wood Logs 20 Times in a Row. My Storage is almost caped on Exotic Wood Logs. Or doing a Adventure that Supplys Titanium Ore. Gosh, I'd rather take the Exotic Wood Logs then the stupid Titanium Ore. lol

Luck is defined as "chance" FOR or AGAINST.

Luck has EVERYTHING to do with it.

I don't think you understand what Luck means man. Yes. Flipping a Coin it can land on heads or tails each time. It's called LUCK.
So if you want Heads and it gives you head. You are LUCKY. If you want Heads and it lands on Tails. That means you are UNLUCKY.

These quests chains are LUCK based. Luck is when you have NO control over the results.
