    Lightbulb Most Profitable Explorer Search

    Hey Settlers,

If you're like me, then you like getting the most bang for your buck.

I remember wondering, since I started playing The Settlers Online over a year ago, which Explorer Search was the best choice for maximum profit. Out of the 7 options to choose from, I had trouble deciding which one to use.

While investigating this topic, I found many opinions but no answers. It became clear to me that if I wanted to find out, I would have to figure it out on my own.

After playing for over a year without knowing, I finally have the variables I need to reveal the truth.

You can find the results to these calculations by clicking the link for the server that you play on:

    US-1 Zeus ... http://tso.majordesigns.ca/US1/price_list.html
    US-2 Ares ... http://tso.majordesigns.ca/US2/price_list.html

    EU-1 Newfoundland ... http://tso.majordesigns.ca/EU1/price_list.html
    EU-2 Northisle ... http://tso.majordesigns.ca/EU2/price_list.html
    EU-3 Sandycove ... http://tso.majordesigns.ca/EU3/price_list.html

    Happy Settling!

The explorer only deals with the value of the find -- and does not include the gold/sausage cost of the search (with the adventure searches).

@ZBest - All values for each Explorer Search are the true net values. The total cost has been subtracted from the total revenue. =]

This mostly follows the same results I had, though these are a little more extreme between treasure and adv then I had.

Medium Adventure is definitely the best choice of both adventure and overall.
Medium treasure hunt is definitely the best choice of the treasure hunts.

Medium treasure was a lot closer to the advs for mine. But those prices need tweaked some, granite is horridly outdated for instance.

Still - this is another reminder Short, Very long, and Long treasure hunts absolutely SUCK.

The Medium Adventure Find is still the best choice, but it's lead isn't as big as it used to be.

Let's see what the future holds.

Thank you for the feedback. =]

Medium Adventure Search has been far in the lead for the longest time. Due to the constant changing of prices, this is no longer the case.

Short Adventure Search is now in a very close 2nd. Let's see if it will take the lead.

What's your take on value of various explorer actions post science update? It seems like the developers know medium treasure hunts are popular based on some of the options.

Just and FYI about your site. I can't see your tables in Chrome but can in IE. I'm guessing that it uses Java. Anyhow...

Nice table. Silly question, but do you have access to all trades or is this just from your observations during the day?

With which I rebut: If the average six-year-old understands general relativity, then I'm in big trouble.
