Thank you for the gems!
Thank you for the gems!
If winners are chosen 'at random,' than how was this a contest? I am a serious writer, and I am no longer going to put forth my time and writing effort into contests where the winners are selected based on names drawn from a hat. I guess it doesn't matter than, if drivel like this is pulled from the bucket:
This is my Haiku (5 syllables)
It's a big piece of poo-poo. (7 syllables)
Someone clean it up. (5 syllables)
Apparently, BB could care less if random offal comes flying out of the hat; they just think that its players will do anything stupid for a chance to win a few lousy gems. What the heck can 250 gems buy you anyway? Not much.
Ask and ye shall receive! Here is the list of post numbers pulled by the random number generator I used:
The fact that winners would be chosen at random was stated in the contest description. While the contest rules were set before I joined the BB team, I have to agree with the decision to randomize the winners. I hope you can understand why it wouldn't have been feasible to judge 500+ haiku entries. That being said, I very much enjoyed reading the haikus pulled by the randomizer (and tapping my fingers on my desk as I counted off the syllables in each line). Thanks again to everyone who participated!

All winners should have already received their free gems. Congratulations again to all our winners!
Did you people read the Haikus that were submitted? Did you check that the winners Haikus met the criteria to actually be a haiku? You set the parameters and then failed to judge accordingly? Integrity should be the word of the day! Don't do an event that you just blow off by random selection, it hurts people's views/perception of the BB's.
Sincerely, Remleserac
WOOHOOOO hubby and I got 250 gems!! And his hit the front page!He was really happy to come home from work and see this. THANKS UBISOFT SETTLERS TEAM!
While it was random, it's cool that I only entered 3 Haiku's and was selected. Even cooler that mine was on the front page. Sorry to those who are upset by the randomizer. I assure you guys that I actually tried for my Haiku's, as I take poetry and writing in general very seriously.
How would you judge a Haiku? My opinion of my favorite doesn't make it the best one...just saying![]()
I have no problem with random winners; it was clear in the description. But for fun,
Haiku gems rained down
Missing me, for no reason!
I pout - and replant...
