Thread: Suggestion Ships

    I think the idea of ships will be handy when pvp comes. However it will require a overhaul of the game programming. Maybe If there was a general warehouse that the guild leader could put the goods that were mined on the pvp island in for the guild to use then the need for the ships might be not be needed, therefore making it easier on the developers to make pvp possible.

    This is somthing i would see happening AFTER PvP comes.

    Ships are really cool and since Anno Online is trade only, then i don't see how we couldn't have ships. After all we can build cannons!

    i see buildings being moved to the water or small islands off of our coasts.. with those buildings, i could see a shipyard being added (hopefully produce fish boats) so we can make more room on land for future buildings (fairy tale, sci buildings, and others) as well as possibly a trading boat (with a extra free trade spot) and obviously, storage boats to transport troops to pvp island.

    that would be pretty neat to have ocean battles, i like that

    Major Brain wave, Let the Dev's build another island sector, but instead, it would ONLY be a water sector, which would let all the required buildings for ships, while not doing any big changes on the game balance.

    it would be interesting to see how player deal with pirates when transporting there off island good to there main island.

    Seem like that is were a guild will come in handy, have your guild back up your cargo vessel.
    As well as defending off any pirate guild on the sea that want your cargo.
    (as off shore supplies can't be traded on TO or use by your main island till you get them safely transported)

    I thought i might as well add this.

    If navel battle do occur with other player they will need a place to battle.
    There could be multiple maps set up using x and y coordinate.
    For ship to set sail and return will use one set of these coordinate.
    This mean if you wish your guild or a friend to come with you then they need to enter the same coordinate you do.

    Most of those maps will be dark and hard to navigate.
    The rocks and other things could load up at random locating making it difficult to steer away.
    For navigating a lantern boat could be use to give you a better eyes on things.
    Lantern boats can also be use by enemies to locate which x and Y path is being taken.
    Of course for them to locate anyone would be like a needle in a hay stack yet that is what a treasure hunting is all about right.

    Attacking ships that can steal loot would have to carry a pirate flag or navy flag when entering.
    Other ships will be classified as patrol, cargo, explorer, and defender.
    A cargo ship or explorer ship will have the fleet ability, it will allow ships to join it group.
    The ship that join will either be defender or patrol ship.
    Pirate vessel can attack any vessel that they like that is not apart of there group and can only allies with other pirate.
    Navy can also attack and and loot any yet they can allies with any vessel except for pirate vessel.
    Since navy ships are government ships all the loot they gather will be greatly tax.

    Depending how much the developer wish to put into this will depend how advance it will be.
    A chart book could be given to players for them to sail to different x and y coordination.
    This could allow them to explore to find good fishing spot, new island, or dead seas well as untold riches.
    Of course this can be very dangerous so unlike the sort cargo routs you are certain in need of an entire fleet or a large ship to enter those area.
    (this could be a guild activity to get everyone together)
    This mean you will have to invest a bit and to be very careful while exploring, as you don't know what might be on those maps.
    While you explore you will be charting everything out so you may need to return a few times to chart out the entire map.

    (once a chart is fully charted out you might be able to make copies and sell them to other players)
    (charts could take up to weeks or more to make)
    (if it was a guild charting then all the map information will go directly to the guild head master)
    (so it will be up to the guild to sell or to keep the charts all to themselves)

    these are all great ideas the ships nwould add more excitement to the game and could be used to expand on many resources as noted by all the players who have responded to the ship idea.. this is very detailed and i believe a very good program which would even beneft players of the highest levels as they would have to work a little harder to build upon there resources making there experinces more challenging overall..

    A lot of good ideas, would be nice to see this but I would like to see other things implemented first (more islands, higher cap lvl, pvp, etc)
