Does the Science System make sense?

Alright so went to testing server played around with science system... i am aware that it is not finished but the overall obvious problem is this.

this is a resource management game. the science system creates a product that has a definite life. the most books you can have in a tree is 31... be it top ranked books from lower....

so after you have filled up your tree what then?

destroy the buildings you used to make the books?

you say make the stuff and sell the book (to my knowledge only the first two can be sold but im not sure... overall it does not matter) if only the first two books can be sold then after you fill your tree the expert book buildings have 0 value and the books they make have 0 value.

you will probably be able to make some coin at first but will go down hard after a while i would assume once people have done their tree.... (sure new people come and a steady market will be there but it will be small not like say a bread market or gold ore market)

so that is just my two cents... i will probably build these buildings (hopefully just expert and buy lower level stuff) get my tree filled then tear them down.

am i seeing this system wrong or what?

(also i am using the term book interchangeably as the mats that make to the books )

it will take your bookbinder a few years likely to max out your explorers, geos, generals.

it will take a few days to get the mats to last your bookbinder for 2 years. thus...the real problem is the support infrastructure, not the bookbinder

    good point.

    re looked at it

i have a level 3 bookmaker... not to pricey

to fill the tree i need 31 books (the 11 could be in any of them i choose codex)

    10 manuscript (20 hours per)

    10 tome (24 hours Per)

    11 codex (28 hours per)

so you add em all up you get 748 hours... you divide that by 24 and you get 31.16 days

so lets say it takes 1 month and a half 2 months max ... (this assumes no gems of course)

I am really not that worried about the mats... will not be that hard.

Per my understanding you can only do one tree not all 4... am i wrong about that one?

most higher levels (like myself) will have a lvl 5 bookbinder.

    however:

Every codex needs 1 book, every book needs 1 manuscript

    Therefore one needs 31 manuscripts, 21 tomes, 11 codex's

yep forgot about that step... so now we are at 1432 hours... 60 days min...

    will take a while

might have to level past 3 then.

looked at level 5 and it brought it down to 852 hours.... 35.51 days..

so level 5 might be 1 1/2 or 2 months to do a full tree

You basically only really need one person in the guild with the support buildings because the bookbinder bottleneck. And the books aren't tradable.

One of the materials for the codex is a Tome --- so you have to make your own.

But you can buy the mats for the Manuscript -- bind it -- buy the materials for a Tome -- bind it -- and buy the materials for a Codex -- bind it.

what do you mean by one tree? and not all 4? each specialist has their own 'tree'. but its not a tree. it has 3 sections. they're not 'tree' lined connected. you can zig zag so long as you fulfill requirement of the books spent
