    PROTIP: A bandit camp's area of effect (red zone) does not intercept a general if the camp is trying to defend from attack. This enables a technique called blocking, in which you "block" a camp's area of effect to get straight to the leader.

    PROTIP: Watchtowers and Stone Towers make ranged units take less damage.

    PROTIP: Finished goods are often more valuable than raw resources. For example, Pinewood is worth less than Pinewood Planks. This applies for Provision House items as well.

    PROTIP: The Battle Hardened General and Veteran General fight twice as fast, in addition to the other effects listed in their descriptions.

    PROTIP: All of the expert production chains, as well as Gold and possibly Steel, should be constantly buffed. If you can't give a buff, turn the building off.

    PROTIP: Collaborating on adventures can reduce losses, but if you do it alone you can give the lootspot(s) to your guild or sell them.

    PROTIP: Don't bother producing a lot of the resources. Adventures give you enough Steel Swords, Crossbows, Damascene Swords, and Cannons to last you for the rest of the game. You don't be losing any of those units anyways.

    Here is a pro-tip.

    When you maximize your web browser full screen. You get a bigger view of your island reducing the need to use the window scroll bars too much.

    If you have a big monitor and using a high resolution, like a 30" apple cinema display, and using 2560 x1600, you get more view space of your island.

    Playing on a big monitor is pro! Playing on a tiny phone browser is not. :-)

    When your lvl 50 and bored, you can spend extra time doing events like this... or start playing other games, waiting ever so patiently (NOT) for 50+ content...

    Participate in forum events, because this gives you a chance to win gems. These can be spent in the store for many useful things.

    Watch for special events which are announced on the game's home page. Winners of these events run on Global-1 are awarded gems!

    Overstock your fish and meat deposits, especially if you anticipate being offline for more than a day. Make sure your Hunters and Fishermen keep busy!

    Time for some real expert advice. I got two golden rules you need to keep in mind as an expert.

    1. never reveal everything you know

    Expert advice, assuming you know the basics and a little more.

    Start using a calculator! Learn something about effectif building placement for the lazy: http://forum.thesettlersonline.net/t...possible-guide
    When using buffs make sure it acutally gives profit. Take an X ammount of goldcoins for a aunt irma basket. calculate the amount of production cycles and multiple that by the production to find out how much extra resources you gain. Calculate the value and see if thats bigger or smaller than X to find out if it worth it.

    for resources i always use the per 400 price except for the single basket....
    Aunt irma basket placed by friend: 9 hours = 9x 60 = 540 min
    Example: level 5 stables
    Production cycle in minutes approx 6.5 minutes
    Baskets price 4.2 goldcoins
    Horses per 400: 13.2 goldcoins
    (540/6.5)*5= approx 415 horses extra
    so the ammount of horses gained in goldcoins is more than 4.2 coins the baskets cost

    What we want to know is the total production cost so we need to know how many resources we have used and how much they cost
    wheat: 7.6 per 400
    Water:1.52 per 400

    total production = 830 horses in 9 hours lvl 5 stables with aunt irma
    wheat used =(830/400)*7.6= 15.7
    water used= (1660)*1.52= 6.3
    price basket= 4.2
    total cost = 26.2
    Value of 830 horses = (830/400)*13.2=27.4

    total profit = 1.19 goldcoins!!

    WOOOT WOOOOT PROFIT

    This is just an example you maybe buy resources cheaper and sell horses for more but remember this calc is with 100% buffed. A little downtime will make your profit turn into a loss very fast.
