Before you logoff, send your Geologists after Stones and lastly Marble - so your Masons have something to do while you are off line.
Upgrade from the bottom of the production chain and upwards. Example: Farms so your mills have more wheat. Then Mills so your bakeries have more flour.
Save your wheat deposits until you know you are going to be gone a few days. Drop them on your fields and your farms can still harvest while you are gone.
Only gold, fish, and meat deposits are worth buying. All other deposits cost more than the goods you get out of them.

Correction. 1 Friary is like 4 Brewery's. 4 times the input, 4 times the output. Only difference is you save 4 Building Licences well the Friary doesn't use any. Great Investment though ^.^
Always send troops in advance to speed up time of attack
Take a few minutes to plan for arventurs and you can manage troop build times and troop transport issues ahead of the battle
