Thank you for creating a constructive conversation about this issue. We do want everyone to feel comfortable while playing the game. We do the best we can with our resources to ensure this happens. I just want to say that this message has been heard. There are several things that you can do in the mean time to help us make the community more positive:

We receive complaints through customer support tickets about inappropriate chat. If the violations are found to be accurate, the offender could face a chat ban, no matter when the comments were made (yesterday, two hours ago, 5 minutes ago). A chat ban removes access from global channels, guild chat, trade and help chat. Think about this before you engage in inappropriate chat in global-1. If you want to talk about something else, simply take it to another global channel. There, people have the choice to join the conversation and it is a self moderated community. Remember that if a moderator is called to another global channel, the same rules will be enforced.

We aren't here to restrict anyone and we don't like having to ban but when it is necessary to protect others from offensive language or harassment, we will.. I, personally, would much rather everyone talk about rainbows and puppy dogs and be happy!

Things you can do to protect yourself:

1. Report violations with avatar names and times of infractions through a support ticket.
2. Use the /ignore feature in the game chat
3. Join a different global channel
4. Ask community members, nicely, to take their chat somewhere private and don't engage.

We depend on everyone to help build an awesome community (which we have) and hope that we will be able to better address your concerns.

What we will do:

1. BB_Effiluna and I will make sure that this thread gets to the right place to start the appropriate conversation.
2. Always listen to your complaints, when posed professionally, in an unbiased manner.

But still, the BB's need to do this themselves. i don't want to start a fight, but this is YOUR game. You created it, its your responsibility to protect the players. Is a 10 year old playing capable of reporting? (yes i understand you must have a parent or someone 18 or older to play but still...)

I understand there is a lot of legal issues to having an 24/7 mod, so i won't press the issue further other than reporting other offensive players and having this Vote here.

There is no argument started. For sure, we do everything we can without further approval. We do not allow a 10 year old to play the game due to COPPA. It requires us to obtain a very specific kind of permission from a responsible adult in order to play. If you do see someone under the age of 13 in the game, for their safety, they should be reported.

If a child does see inappropriate chat, please make sure they know to get a grown up. Even with 24 hour moderation, we wouldn't be able to catch everything.

I completely understand where you are coming from and I do promise I will raise this issue to whomever I can. In the meantime, I think these should help.

I suggest you remove the /report command if it doesn't work, whether fully or at all.

Is it possible to have a different BB moderate the chats each day? Like taking turns.

Also, I'm not sure why, but why isn't there a BB on right now?? There is a big fuss in Global-1 and well.. It's getting worse and someone has a very... inappropriate name.

I think the 2 options given were a bit exaggerated sounding (particularly the latter), and for the reasons BB_Susurrously stated. Most people voice their disagreement in global to stick up for children (even those posing as children) getting picked on. There has been some pretty atrocious language in the past, but I have seen it improve since BB increased their presence in G-1 over the last few months. BB is pretty swift to deal with reports that have been submitted through the "support" function on the main page.

Things to include in your report:

1) BRIEF description of your complaint
2) Screenshot
3) Time and Date of incident (be sure to include our timezone: BB operates on Eastern Standard Time)

Yes but, that isn't the issue we are dealing with here.

We don't want to have to place a ticket. We want a Mod. someone to watch over G-1 and other channels and protect children ect.

The benefits of a mod is that the players causing these problems are dealt with right away. it can take 1-3 business days to start the ban, plenty of time to spread more havoc.

Also, it generates a safe place for players to play in. You wouldn't want to play in a street of gangs selling (you know what), nor would you want to play in a game with bad chat.

(ps atomic, there is a "Edit post" button right below your post you can use to edit words, helps with you not needing to use 2 posts to fix one.
