Unless you are a Nords baby or sold it....one should have thousands upon thousands of salt peter at 50.

The quest cost v. reward is bad....but dont cry about salt peter.
More of the same "new" content with a different bow? I will give more of the "same" towards my gem accumulation.

the ONLY smart thing they did on the crisis quest was use it as a way to eliminate the oversupply of exotic logs and salt peter that occurs from adventures. 250 gems though is ONLY good for players who dont buy gems and need building licenses or generals.

Remember that at level 50 you get all those quests to build expert buildings, including the gunpowder maker. Many level 50s have been either running their powdermaker or selling the salt to those running powder makers. The amount of salt available is probably not as high as you think (and I didn't buy ANY Nords with gems and have been level 50 for 12 months).

I happen to have that 5000 (but no powdermaker) but why wouldn't I just sell the salt to a gem seller (or TO) for enough gc to buy 5 times the amount of gems that the final reward is worth?

This is why the rewards need to outweigh the cost of running the quest.

Except we will all need exotic wood logs for one of the new buildings.
Still around from time to time.

Bottom line for crisis quest: the maths are broken.

Your feedback is very important to the devs so please continue to let us know your thoughts in a constructive manner and I will be sure to forward it to them so they can continue to improve Crisis Quests in the future. What do you like about it? What don't you like about it? How can they make it better next time? Be specific (and constructive!) so I can better present them with your feedback.

Edit: Sticking this thread and making it the official Crisis Quest feedback thread.

In reading everyone's comments, it's clear (to me anyway) that the feedback is:

1- The costs are too high.
2- The rewards are not worth it.
3- Make the costs reasonable and make the rewards outweigh those costs.
4- Feel fee to add anything I missed.
Still around from time to time.

I have 14 generals I don't need medipacks. 250 gems either doesnt exactly motivate me. It's quite low if you look at the price of things purchased with gems.
The first quest make 150 baskets this would be completed by most players eventually but a 5,000 payout for a 400 reward. The numbers don't balance. We want to be thinking we are getting "AWESOME" rewards ..."epic" even for working on these quest chains. The way you have the current quests with tiny figure rewards do not do this. So as many other players who I am watching in Global and reading on the forum will not bother with this. It's a shame I did complete the Fourwinds Chain through much effort. But it had better rewards.
As you say you are reading these posts then I would like to take this opportunity to point out a few other dismal aspects of the game.
A change was made to the search times of geologists shortening many. Brilliant and needed yet the 30 minute travel time of regular tavern generals was overlooked.
Recently I decided to rotate two veteran generals, 2 regulars and a battle hardened and run the many traitors adventures I had piled up since starting the game. Well the wait for the slow pokes essentially killed my enthusiasm for adventuring. It became boring and after a few days of this my play time degraded to maybe two hour sessions. I did it cleared 60+ of the advents but I encourage you to look at making travel times faster, some players have setups that allow the game to be played like rts games I am one.
Many people probably have in the past commented on gold coin production being worthless or less than satisfying. 29 coins per 12 hours per level of coinage, 500 coins to upgrade, 20k coins for 6th tavern general. These are out of whack and need to be addressed. It is possible to do and I have lots of gold industry because of poor game balance and time requirements but it isn't something that will keep potential new players interested in this game or people when they are reaching the stage which requires Coins. I'm sure you may notice players leaving game and not returning in certain level and economy brackets.
Last for now is granite. The chain that binds us to the game for longer periods of time per day or week than one might want to be playing a browser game. High gem cost, low chance to find with explorers, slightly less than impressive loot reward chance from adventures. So then lets look at its uses. It upgrades and that is it. We do the basic and intermediate level buildings quite simply and then we move on. How do you think 6000 granite is balanced for upgrading one building? My god what is wrong with the Devs the day they did that to us. Wife leave them or ran out of coffee at work? We can achieve it by farming and that is exactly what it becomes without gems, or shooting yourself in the face if we spend too much time at the pc. I liken it to farming motes when I used to play WoW. Not very fun.

At one time, I had over 60k in Saltpeter.
But since then, I have made a lvl 5 Powderhut.
I now have maybe a couple hundred saltpeter and over 20k Gunpowder.
    NOW you want the saltpeter?

And later on you want me to complete an SE too? Probably should give us the medipacks up front for that one.

    Consider me properly gruntled.

I have no complaints about the crisis quest. Why bother? I am just going to ignore it.
