BB I think your best practice is in design and making stuff user friendly. If the videogame industry goes bust, that can take you even farther I feel.

What if the trade ratio popped up on mouse-over? I think it seems easy enough to implement and it would eliminate the need for constant math.

The hoverbox formula would consistently read (Offer divided by Cost). It would become easy to pick out the best deal.

I also think it would be super radical if the Trade Office kept track of coin transactions and calculated the average coin worth for each commodity.
It would make the free market work if everyone had easy knowledge of what something is worth based on aggregate demand.
There's actually people doing this for you now, BlueByte, even though it is simply a hard-to-find Spreadsheet. But you guys and gals could rock it.

I just think everyone should have some idea of the big picture.
The best part about this is that if you have all this information, you could easily tell us our total production value which could be compared and ranked. Making things much more interesting for everyone. If only to move up a few spots due to better decision-making, constant vigilance, mercantile skills or buying loads of gems.

Then again, we are meant to be stuck alone on an island. Maybe we should be happy with it and not worry about anybody else.

Maybe it'll give the 50s something to do.
