Leif Ore-icson
Leif was an unhappy forester. He had heard tales about a mythological creature called "woman". He dreamed about finding a woman but he didn't know what one looked like since no one had ever encountered one. One day he put down his sapling and picked up a pickax and went in search of woman. After a short search he returned with an unknown substance. The town was amazed, Leif ore-icson had found copper! Disappointed, he returned to the wild to find woman. Hours later he proudly presented the mayor with another object. Iron ore! The settled island rejoiced! Now they could battle with swords and free themselves from attacks. Leif Ore-icson was declared the lands most distinguished geologist! Leif's brother, Rock Hudson was greatly annoyed. His greatest discovery to date was stumbling across a stone pile. He contested the claim that Leif had found the Iron ore.
Leif never did find "woman" Many say it doesn't exist on any settled island. Ore-icson and Rock are currently is a fierce court battle over book rights and who is going to play Leif and Rock in the upcoming movie.
Meanwhile their little brother Finger was seen holding something shiny *cue Goldfinger music*

The Honorable Sidney Cummerbund! …and his bumbling assistant, Jolly
Sidney grew up in rural England where he loved to play in the backyard with only the dirt and leaves he collected afterschool. His parents and siblings thought it was so odd that all he wanted to do was play in the dirt, and not throw the mud, but study the mud with a flashlight. He was accepted into England’s most prestigious school for geology. He continued his education in Germany, earning his PH.D. in geology, along with a degree in linguistics. Sidney Cummerbund knows a total of seven languages; English, French, Italian, German, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese and Swedish. He slowly grew to become a very successful geologist, even honored by the Queen of England, hence his Honorable title, and came to the Settlers Island as a full-time geologist; studying wildlife, mud, rocks and the like. He needed some help and that’s how he obtained his bumbling assistant; Jolly Witherton. A young geology intern, from the United States, who has quite a lot of knowledge on the subject of geology (and other random bits of useless information), but his overall ability to be a composed human is still in some need, along with his sense of direction; that is also why it takes Jolly 4 hours to find a simple gold deposit. “Bumbling fool,” Sidney retorts on a daily basis.

1. Geologist Crag finds simple rock deposits. A simple man, Crag enjoys nothing more
than a brisk climb up a sheer rock wall followed by a cold, cheap beer and a single
Kool Filter King.
2. Geologist Cole looks for coal. A slovenly fellow, Cole is frequently found streaked
with dirt, carbon and ketchup and has been asked to leave more than one restaurant for
breaking wind. Cole spends way too much time in public restrooms.
3. Geologist Ferris looks for ferrous metals, better known as iron. A pretentious
sort, Ferris considers his intellect loftier than his colleagues and prefers speaking
to them in multi-syllabic terms that generally go right over their heads. None of his
fellow geologists likes Ferris.
4. Geologist Alois, tends to find copper deposits. An avowed partier, Alois mixes a
mean Bloody Mary. He also blends his own copper alloys.
5. Geologist Golda looks for—you guessed it!—gold! Formerly the prime minister of
Israel, Golda looks rather mannish but is actually a woman. Golda likes to attend
state dinners.

Rockhound
Rockhound studied geography at SettlersU and earned his BS. When he decided to move to The Island, the processing officer misunderstood his profession. But like the Jolly Geographer he was, he decided maybe change was a good thing. He put down his compass and picked up the pick axe, and he's been swinging it ever since.

Chip
A boy washed up upon the shores of settlerville many seasons ago. He was just a young lad of 10yrs then with nothing of his own, save the silver chain around his neck with a mesmerizing milky blue crystal pendant hanging upon it. His name was unknown, for he knew not who he was nor from where he came. He was taken in by the village elders and cared for upon his arrival to our lands. It was in the first week that the boy started demonstrating his unusual natural talents. He was wandering about the village when he came upon some miners dozing in the shade for their midday nap. He was immediately drawn to one of the miners pick axes. His eyes could not be turned away from it. He knew right from wrong, but he just had to have that pick axe. He gingerly stole away the tool and ran into the surrounding hills of the village. With the pick axe in hand, he felt a strange tingling run up and down his fingers, and an almost magnetic pull to a certain spot in the hills. He raised the pick and swung it into the rocks before him, and with a crack like lightning, he chipped the rock in two, exposing the brilliant gold ore within. Some of the passing villagers saw this and brought him and the ore back to the mayors house. A buzz of excitement ran through the crowd as they gathered around the boy and the mayor. The mayor proclaimed the boy shall be named Chip and trained in the sciences of geology and nature.
For eleven seasons Chip has wandered our lands discovering new and bountiful ore deposits, he is drawn to the exact spot each time by his internal magnetic pull. But as many finds as he discovers, he is always left wanting, wanting to find a deposit of the mysterious milky blue crystal that hangs around his neck. He hopes that a discovery of this crystal may somehow lead him in the direction of his long lost home and the past of who he used to be...
