    PvP is a game killer

Ive been playing online games for years , whenever pvp in game, same drama same shet.

As soon as pvp starts, same group of people start to come. Taught guy wannabees, real life looser who try to be winner in virtual life.
Guy who scolded by his boss in day at office, comes and destroy virtual assets of stranger on internet and feel powerful again.

Conversations on chat start changing, all nice conversations go away, bragging starts, about how big his army is, how killed other guys army or how many beer drank last night.

instead of friendship and helping others, you see pride and ego everywhere. Fun disappears on guild chats instead you start to hear cry for help, complains, stress and sadness.

And worst of all , effects on minors. They learn how to win for all cost, spying, betraying friends, and all negative values seen on pvp games.

Although I know how it will end , I decided to tried another pvp game in recent weeks. In two weeks , countless time we got attack, multiple times our alliance fallen and risen, many different players joined and quit. There was always some emergency , stress, tension. I quit 2 weeks later.

On pvp games , there is always same cycle. When server opened, %10 of people progress faster than others. These are usually people who play 8hrs a day and they already discovered all tricks on the game. They usually live their moms basement and spend their last money to online games. his %10 quickly become bullies of server.
other %40 quit game completely ,and another %40 jumps to new server as soon as it opens, with hoping they can do it this time. since no enough people left to be bullied on server, those bullies quits in time too , Thats why you see many dead servers on pvp games.
Now I compare with in here, our game settlers. Soon it will be 2 yrs for this server and many players are still playin for a long time, happily. second US server started but no one quits first one yet.

Im so happy with my game as its. Im very affraid if pvp starts and ruins this game.

While i understand the stress PvP gives, you are dead wrong on everyone being "happy" in TSO.

    1. TSO was originally a PvP game!
    2. The Dev's are hard at work making PvP NOT REQUIRED to play. You will see that with adventures. You can still level up without PvP.
    3. If you want a game that will never have PvP, play Anno Online.

Now, i do agree with you, before i joined TSO the last strategy game i played had tons of stressed players, but that was in a stressed environment.

So, is it fair that we may get PvP?
    Yes.

    Do players want PvP?
    Yes. Not all but most.

    Will we get PvP?
    Yes. "soon". (tm)

The problem I see with PvP is stealing resources. Most PvP is unbalanced and stealing resources is several orders of magnitude more efficient than building your own economy.

There's other ways to do PvP that don't include resource-stealing. You could get nerf-buffs or leaderboard points for weekly/monthly prizes or something. A lengthy marching time between islands also reduces the frequency of attacks.

"soon" Is the keyword here... When I joined in Aug 2011 it was promised since then lol :P

And Not all games are totally like that.. I currently play Lord of Ultima also.. major PvP game.... and the chat in my world is not mean or stressful at all. I now agree that players will steal res from others and there will be some who can be mean and hurtful in chat.. but I don't know if it will be that bad...
