20th Anniversary Event Feedback

Greetings Settlers,

I want you to know that I have been reading your posts very closely and have been reporting your concerns and your feedback to Blue Byte. I understand many of you have been disappointed with the anniversary event so far and, if you continue to provide your feedback in a constructive manner, I promise to continue championing your concerns. To facilitate the compilation of your remarks, suggestions, and concerns, I have merged any threads expressing such information into this newly created thread. Thank you for your patience while I do everything in my power to communicate your feedback to Blue Byte in hope that we can improve your play experience in both current and future events.

You guys represent US servers....but

• How do you fight for us?
• How do you support us?
• What are you doing to encourage people to donate balloons?
• Why aren't you explaining in details how balloons are counted?
• When are you going to answer the question why 200% bonus as opposed 50% bonus happening during an "economical" PvP between servers ?

I would really love that you guys would be compensated based on our servers performance... Maybe then you would really do something. And maybe WE - your customers - we should be able to rate your performance as "community managers".

If you want to know how to improve our experience and provide feedback to the developers. Here are my concerns:

1. I would like to see the Settlers 2 HQ population count increased by a lot. This would make it worth people donating and reaching the goals.
2. Some sort of compensation for the 2 days late start on phase 2. (give us a % boost? or gems?)
3. Do a 3x gems for the people who buys gems.
4. REMOVE the extra prize for 'fastest' balloons. Keep the Most balloons prize if you want since it would be unfair for the germans at the top donating so many balloons. (Allow people to donate after it reaches 200% and have a number of balloons donated. this will make it fair for people trying to compete for most balloons)
This competition was never fair to begin with no matter how you pair up the servers. A server that is new like German 14 and 13 got matched up with German 2 and German ?? So basically server 14 gets carried to the top easily.

5. Show number of balloons not % of balloons.



I have stated many times over that this settlers 2 hq pop of 20 is just not that exciting for people. And it takes up a barrack size foot print (which eats into 4 buildings worth).

This will greatly improve our experience.

As for future events. NO MORE world event garbage competition. If you plan to have one. Take away the "fastest" and "most" prize away. Because those 2 'extra' prizes demoralizes people on new servers and servers with low pop. There is no way you can make it fair to see who can be the fastest.

The biggest problem people are frustrated about is that the 'fair' competition is not fair. There is NO way you can organize this event and put servers together in any way to make the 'fastest' donation competition fair. Why have it when you know it will never be fair??

NEVER. Especially with time zones. and Europeans get a head start. NEVER EVER will a fastest donation competition be ever fair in a world event.
Maybe fastest person or fastest guild.


The most balloons donated might be okay but that requires you to show us some numbers so that we know what we're working towards. But even this is just not really fair either.

Greetings! Thank you for your feedback. I don't know whether they are considering any adjustments now that the event is underway but I will be sure to forward your suggestions.

No reason why they can't adjust the settlers 2 hq building since it has not been given out yet. and the test servers are only recently showing the skin change buffs as tradeable. which means they can change the pop count like they did with the magnificent residence.


We already know the secondary prize competition is not fair for us to even win. (fastest and most balloons??)

For starters, I am not a freeloader. I donated more than enough in the 1st phase and in the 2nd phase until it became known how unfair this competition is with other servers. When others are given great advantages such as the 3x gem sale and voucher prizes for more exotic baskets, it is obvious how we rank with Ubisoft/Blue Byte. I still have not heard one word from them about why this happened or an apology for the slight. It is the least they can do to make this right. Until then...I am not donating anything to this sham of a contest. I don't think it is a matter of server pride or team pride here. It is a matter of right and wrong. They are wrong.

i want to say the pop limite for the settlers 2 hq building was changed to 100.. but not 100% positive on this, anyone with more information please feel free to let us know thanks

It seems that we are now on pace with the top servers.

All the servers are at about a 6% / day pace now ... after an early explosion by some.

Although there's some speculation that BB introduced diminishing returns as you get more --- even to the point of annoying the Germans.

But then there's the rumours that balloons could be converted 25:1 for gold coins after the event -- so the German server is all hoarding instead of donating.

I guess we won't know. The BB's decided to hold an event without any information.

We already know the contest was NEVER EVER going to be fair. Stop kidding yourself about how the 3x gem sales is going to make it a huge difference.

Right now, we know we're not going to get the 'fastest' and 'most' prizes. But that was never going to happen regardless. Even if they gave us 3x gem sales. We were never going to get that.

The best thing to do right now is to get to 200%. It's possible for us to get there ever we donate an average of 10% a DAY for the next 15 days.

We have until the 23rd. Today is the 8th. So long as we get 10% moving up the bar. WHO the hell cares what the other servers are doing.

It's 600 extra free gems that we could be earning just for getting to 200%. You guys like to cry and pout like little kids over spilled milk.

Were did you get this information. Now that is exciting news.

BB Ted answered some of those concerns in Global, on Ares.

This is a copy/paste from what he said..

[20:03] [UBI] BB_DXTed2: Ubisoft owns Blue Byte. Each region (USA, UK, Germany, and Russia) have their own policies and marketing. Remember when we had those gems sales with 100% bonus a few months ago? Germany didn't. It varies by region and by month. Don't feel to upset, the shoe has been on the other foot with the other regions.

[20:05] [UBI] BB_DXTed2: There will be. We currently have 20% bonus on our servers. We aren't getting a raw deal.

[20:11] [UBI] BB_DXTed2: The Germans are winning because they are using teamwork. The American servers are doing the same thing the happened during the ETOW event. If they feel they aren't going to win, they just give up and stop participating.

[20:15] [UBI] BB_DXTed2: As for the Gem sale. That's up to each region to have sales. The 300% gem bonus is not going to give any kind of edge for making of the balloons. We are losing that since we aren't working with any kind of cooperation. We are currently talking to those above us about the Gem Bonsus. Again, don't forget we have done sales that other regions did not get.

To me this is rather insulting. sales are sales marketing is marketing but a event should be the same across the board as BB said it was fair
3x gems gives a Big advantage unless they can't buy buffs and buildings with it
And I did not stop doing the event because we were loosing I stopped because of BB's BS just as I did in eotw
I rack it up to the US servers are not stupid

I think that if the Settlers 2 HQ was really rewarding. People will try to get to 100% to make it worth their while. Especially when this is going to be not tradeable one of a kind item with a good population boost.

Very hard to pass up.
