20th Anniversary Event Feedback

So far BB has tried two different Server competitions. Both has caused more problems than the fun and excitement they were suppose to create. Everything may be on the up and up, but the different servers will never think that. In the future, I would prefer there not to be any more server competitions. What I propose to replace it with guild competitions. How about having each guild for Zeus (and the other servers) compete against each other to donate the most balloons. You could do it by either using ballons per guild members or have different size guilds compete against each other 60+, 40-60, 39 and under.

Do you realy that that BB is spending the weekend calculating? I think they are just covering up the fact that things are screwed up.

I like the hunt for "strange buildings," but there aren't enough of them. I like events that are different than simple military adventures, and item hunts are something I really enjoy. I wish more emphasis had been given to the egg hunts at Easter, too. Also the making of balloons gets a bit tedious after a while.

The server competitions need to stop, unless a LOT more effort is put into leveling the playing field. It's just no fun to compete against someone you know can kick your rear. If they had taken out the competition part of this event, it would have been better.

Need to see how many balloons are needed, not just a percentage. What is 100%?

I don't think guild competitions are a bad idea, but what about those of us who have no guild? Should we be forced to join one, or just miss out entirely? Not that I have a problem joining a guild, exactly. I wouldn't mind hooking up with a good one, but I have played games in the past that became an issue of spending more time returning gifts/favors than playing my own game. One guild I joined turned out to be inactive. The next one I tried to join, I was never allowed in, and never given a reason. :-/ I was simply unfriended without a word. I kind of gave up after that, feeling very snubbed. Been a little shy of making another attempt.

So while the guild competitions are a good idea, something needs to be done for the solo players as well.

This event is 3 weeks too long.

All conversations have become nasty and the social aspect of the game is ruined. Can't wait for it to be OVER!!! Can we just skip to the end already?

Phase 1 was FAIL!!!! -- but we only had to deal with it for a few days

It's a shame this event has brought out so much hate, since this was supposed to be a celebration of the 20 years the Settlers have been around.

I have tried my best to stay positive during this event, even though a lot of things concerning it are just brutal for some younger servers.

It hasn't left me with that birthday party feeling you usually get when celebrating someone's anniversary at all.

A lot of the people who are saying negative things about this event, in this thread, are still working very hard at trying to do their best to even get to the 100% for the Zeus and Ares servers. ZBest who just posted is actually one of them, he's often coming over to my island to buff my coal production so I can make one more truckload of balloons for this event. And even though I'm not so happy with the event I go over to his island and do the same.

It's become a chore and pretty much leaves me feeling like I'm slaving away, giving, giving, giving, with only the hope of getting a very small prize at the end.

I second that request from ZBest, please let it all be OVER. That or completely change things and make our balloon donations worth something. They're balloons, it's supposed to be happy times no?

]it wouldn't have been so bad if you could have also bought stuff with the balloons but just to convert resources to donate then repeat over and over. yes it's way too long

More like that "go to someone's birthday party but then that person acts like a big jerk/spoiled brat the entire time but you can't really say anything because its their party so you smile and pretend to have fun until you can find a way to sneak out when no one is looking" kind of feeling

I personally have grown to hate balloons. However, I am still contributing.

BB needs to stop having everyone competing against everyone else. Their is no substitute for the time that European servers have been in the game. They will do everything faster than the younger servers, and it is stilly to think that we would have any chance of competing on their level.
