    Sausage...is it worth producing anymore???

Hey everyone Bart here you might have noticed me around global-1 or in trade on occasion. I'm coming to you all today with a question I've been asking myself for the past few weeks: Is it worth it to have a sausage chain anymore??

I've noticed a steady decline in the price of sausage in the past few months that has me worried. I remember back in December when I would be able to go on the Trade Office and sell 4k sausage for 250gc and that used to be the normal price for it back then but in the span of about 8 months I have gone from being able to sell 4k sausage for 250gc in a couple of minutes to selling 5k sausage for 220gc and it taking almost 3 days for someone to finally accept it. If this decline in the worth of sausage continues I'll probably just tear down my entire production chain and just make enough sausage to support my baskets and explorers.

This takes me to the main reason for this thread. I am hoping that if we can get enough of the sausage producers together and collaborating we can slowly start to sell our sausage for more and more until sausage is actually at a decent price and worth mass producing and selling it.

If you are a sausage producer and want to try to fix this problem please reply below or friend me in-game.

    Thank You
    Bart

Wont work - just to many different sellers. Pretty much ALL non-gem item prices have been declining, sausage no more then most. With water and fish also low - still worth it to make or buy meat deposits.
More of the same "new" content with a different bow? I will give more of the "same" towards my gem accumulation.

same thing happened when recycling plants came out Coal price dropped. Only to be expected with the deer stalkers. Heck I have 5 all level 5. With 200k sausage and 200 k meat in storehouse. You can never control the sausage market.

Gem sellers will be hit hard on the 8th with the flood of silos from guild coin. Who knows what starcoins will buy.

Looking to the near future these are the items i expect to climb in price due to loses in new adventures.
Shortbows big price jump ( very few make them atm)
    iron ore, bars and swords
Hopefully bread ( because I make so much)
and maybe beer but friaries may help limit the increase

Sausage I predict will go up in price - the demand will be higher since the only way to get raid adventures is through long search and long search eats up 350 sausage per explorer. with 10 explorers going out trying to seek raid adventures that's a ton of sausage being consumed.

Sigh - ignorance. Coal did NOT drop much because of recyclers. there just were not enough of them to explain how coal dropped from 25+ per 1k (10/400) to 6 per 1k

Why did coal drop? 2 main reasons

    1) Coal dropped because they ended deposit duping and the era of cheap deposits. This led to a huge reduction at the time of the number of gold chains being run and being built. Gold smelters are quite coal hungry compared to bronze and steel/iron has never been a huge sector of the economy like bronze and gold was.

    2) Trade format changed. The ability to trade more then 400 of a resource at a time (we were limited to 1 400 trade every 10 mins) allowed people to buy massive quantities - but more importantly - allowed people to sell massive quantities which led to people building up the resources that take the least work to manage (woodcutters and cokers). The shift in the liquidity of the coal market shifted it from a sellers market to a buyers market in a day.

    Those 3 recyclers meant ****.

Sausage is one of the lower-maintenance resources with a small daily demand per player. Very easy to flood the market. Most people who acquired deerstalkers simply REPLACED hunters so they could be even lazier. The amount of excess capacity gained was marginal.

Also - gem sellers wont be hit hard. 1 silo per? plz. I bought 44 of the things from other players. Gem sellers would hardly suffer if the only item they could sell were parrots.

Your future predictions are simply random guesses. Steel/iron sword prices have been slowly going down, even with stockpiling at unprecedented levels. Will they go up a bit? Probably, but not much. If they go up too much, the 50s will restart their steel and iron chains that have been dormant for months.

brew and bread may have their decline halted some - but not much. I wouldn't be surprised to see horses tumble more then brew/bread rise as there is a slight shift from DB.

Treasure searches are crap. Most people with a lot of explorers do adv searches already. Prices wont go up so much as the continued fall of sausage will be delayed slightly.

4500 for 10 parrots at auction today, all 3 times parrots sold for 4-4.5k (around 6 per gem)

i dont think gems will drop from their present 4.5~ range.

Sigh - ignorance. The Double/ triple gold cheat had been fixed for months before the price drop.

ACTUALLY. You get only x3 from gemstore. the other x2 was from Christmas.

So him saying 3 is not entirely inaccurate.

(I believe they gave away the plants during Christmas)

true only three from gems. But I found most people with big gold chains ended up with five all my customers that bought coal at least. They no longer needed more. Point was saying the recyclers did not affect the coal market was just silly. Calling someone ignorant because they believe they did. Is just trollish attitude

i thought it was 3 from christmas, but maybe it was only 2.

The point is - the end of gold duping led to a huge contraction in the gold industry. Suddenly a lot of coal buyers no longer needed to. I guess you also didn't notice the people that had rebuild their whole islands to cokers/woodcutters in the summer due to high coal prices?

The TO was the single biggest cause like I said.

Comparing coal prices before the TO and after and blaming it all on the recyclers? flawed. nearly EVERY single item has suffered a drastic fall in price - some larger then coal. Most of them were driven down by the ability of suppliers to specialize and ruthlessly compete over price - and at the large quantities demanded by buyers.
