Pine foresters shut down???
Someone online said that pine foresters shut down if there is no trees to plant is this true? How do I keep them work if that is true?
Second if not, why are all but 1 or 2 are shut down (in the gray state)?

Foresters plant trees, did you mean cutters? if so, they will just keep traveling farther and farther to cut more, until there is none left, then they will stop working, until more grow or are planted.

Nope these are the planter duds.

If you're not cutting any trees, then eventually, the foresters will replace everything that has been cut and will run out of trees to reforest. So why would you worry about keeping them working?
The whole trick of this game is finding production balances. Cut down trees as fast as you reforest them. Then neither shuts down & you get a steady flow of logs to use.

oohh hob is back he is very knowledgeable and has a way of summing things up, always listen to Hob
but it's also true that forester production rates will fluctuate, i've seen peeps put all the foresters on one side of their island, so naturally, they have to travel farther to plant the next time. That takes longer, and your "production rate" will drop. But when the cutters have cleared a few, the foresters move back closer, and your "production rate" goes up again Foresters and cutters will always try to work on the closest available spot, so spread them out. There are trees all over your island, not just in one spot.
That said, unless your island starts looking naked of trees, with cut little stumps all over the place, don't worry about it
