I was stuck also. I had max number of planks and had built a tavern already. Be sure you have enough foresters, 3 or 4 at least. What I did was tear down the tavern then build it again to use some of the planks. Once I did that the quest completed automatically. I had 4 foresters just to be sure.

It must really annoy you when you do not know what to do BUT from myself, I know that you must check your quest menu properly to make sure that all is done on that [grin]
