Since I haven't seen too much about suggestions for how to upgrade your explorer, I went on test server and tested out upgrading explorers for granite, here are my findings...
I set one explorer up for medium search max on granite:
-About 4 hours for a medium search, 24% chance of finding granite, 24% more granite, and 9% more on any resources found
I set another explorer up for Long search max on granite:
-About 8 hours long search, 9% more treasure on search with a 30% chance of a treasure bonus quest that may give granite
So really rough estimates you have:
-Medium you have a 28% chance of getting 66 or 133 granite
-Long a 40% chance of 11 or 33 excluding the 30% chance of getting the treasure bonus quest if you apply that (I did get the quest twice and it gave 5 salt and 10 granite as rewards, so not worth it unless they change rewards)
And here are my results for 10 searches with both explorers:
-Medium:
218 HW, 382 marble, 218 marble, 68 granite, 218 marble, 68 granite, 218 marble, 68 granite, 218 marble, 218 HW
-Long:
22 elogs, 22 elogs, 22 elogs, 16 titanium ore, 60 elogs, 22 elogs, 22 elogs, 11 granite, 11 granite, 22 elogs
So totals:
-40 hours of medium: 436 HW, 1254 marble, 204 granite
-80 hours of long: 192 elogs, 16 titanium ore, and 22 granite
There is the fact that most players aren't on every four hours to send out there medium explorer though, so you are loosing hours in that. But anyway, just thought I would give this information out to players who were looking at what skills to upgrade.
