Yeah, I'm pretty much at the same point. My problem is that I've gotten frustrated with the speed and purchased gems. Wasted too much money on them in fact, and that's on me, not Ubisoft. I think the game would be more enjoyable to me - and I'll admit I may not be their target audience - if things went faster. It has become painful to do an adventure. 15 minutes to travel there(yeah, bought the faster general), 5 minutes to watch the general crawl across the island, another 5 for a fight that I just watch, then travel back, read the report. It just takes a lot of time to do anything and there's no interaction during that time.
I get what the point is. Ubisoft needs to pay its people, and I certainly don't begrudge them that. One way they make money is off of my impatience. Gems speed things up, it takes money to get a lot of gems, Ubisoft pays its programmers. But even after spending a ton of money, things still seem slow.
The guild and player interaction doesn't do anything for me. I'm just not friendly.
RTS games like the Age Of series are all about the fighting and now they are all multiplayer. Anything out there that's combines the economy building of something like Settlers, but where I choose the time of the battle and actually get to participate in it? You can build an economy in an RTS, but it isn't really the point and eventually the enemies will attack you on their terms.
On a related note, if I stop playing, is there a good way to just get rid of gems and resources? Someone might as well enjoy them.
