There's a lot of good things to this event, but I hate the gambling aspect of the mystery architect. I got another pavillion, another tree, and then 3 rabbids in a row :P What a massive waste of gems!!! I kept trying to make up for it thinking the next one would have to be something useful, but no, it is all worthless
Also two nights ago I did the advent calendar - I do it just after the time change to the next day - so I knew I had done it and didn't go on there until after the time change the next night, only to find out my door opening didn't post and they were charging me 50 gems to open that day's door. This is not user error. I saw the silver sparkles and that the door actually opened on the correct night. So why did it not post correctly. I hate losing all my gems on this event!!!!!

If it's in your star menu, you'll be able to place so if you logged in 24 days and activated all doors I would imagine you can place.
As well in the past, these events always had one week after event closes to use presents up. Is this true for this event as well or is the shop closing down on the same day as event ends?
