    Combat Survery - Future Changes?

    After doing the survey

I really hope this game doesn't become an RTS like age of empires. Or some first person shooter.

The answer choices were like "I like to control my units or something like that."

Personally, there is nothing wrong with the combat system. The only improvement would be to support blocking. Sure there are lags and such but who cares, you take the risk and you must learn to compensate for your own lag. Wait a few seconds before launching generals. Or if it lags too much, then you can always brute force kill the camps one by one.

The only thing I'd add to the combat system are new interesting mechanics like Hero Units or customizable generals. Which I'm assuming the new science system is going to give us.

A bit of bandit randomization would go a long way to keeping adventures "fresh".
Even some "either or" camps such that the camp layout won't be the same each time an adventure is played.
Otherwise, the combat system can stay much the same as it is.

I don't want it to be like Age of empires, i want it to be more like... Where you can choose what formations you can use. If you ever watched Rome:Total war videos or something like that, there is Formations. So that you can have the Swordsman in front and archers in back. So for Settlers Online, It would be Archers having the First Strike Ability and then Recruits doing Normal.

There would be a lot more Balancing to do as well. I think Archers along with Cavalry have First Strike. There are Archers like in Horseback or Roaring Bull that do First Strike Attack. So having Archers like that would be pretty awesome a lot less Recruit losses in some situations maybe. Long-bowmen might do the same thing, but would probably be over powerful same with Crossbowman. Cannoneers would have to stay as last strike considering they are over powerful enough.

What they could do is give us a 2nd Barracks where we can train stronger and better units like how the Tailor adventures have the Royal Recruits.

Anyways, I think you might understanding me, I don't want to post something that is super long because I could and most people would probably not read it.
