    Cultural Themes

    I'm not sure if there were ever such a subject discussed. I've been playing TSO since the ending stages of beta and I would like to see a cultural theme, now I don't mean rendering everything to the specification of that culture in the sense of the military, but just the theme of the island. Medieval European culture is great and all and the geos and explorers giving out Spaniard like gestures after receiving commands is getting a little old. It would be nice, not saying it should be done, to see a different culture of the medieval period such as the far east or middle eastern perhaps, just the style of buildings, troops, geos,explorers, generals, etc. Even a selection of avatars based on each culture would be awesome, I don't mind the Hernan Cortez looking guy but I would prefer someone like a Saladin or Sun Tzu, perhaps a Ivan the Terrible for the eastern European theme.

    I understand it would take time and resources to develop something even remotely similar to what I have posted but reframing from the changes to its military structure by just replacing images rather than converting the units' stats as well as the buildings, avatars, agents and so forth.

    But let the public decide for themselves of course, it may or may not be a bad idea. I mean it can always be a gem item to change your entire island from the current medieval Italy to say feudal japan?

    1) Settlers has had a few different races in the past: Egyptians, Romans, Vikings, Asians (forget if specific), Amazons, and a few others I think.
    2) Having different cultural themes: each one doubles the number of animations and graphical work the design team has to do
    More of the same "new" content with a different bow? I will give more of the "same" towards my gem accumulation.

    Romans, Vikings, Egyptians, Asians, Amazons, Mayans, Trojans and Dark Tribe

    That's all up to Settlers 4. After that it was all same race/units for each player/AI
