In response to DreadGod Totally right!! We are all very mad about this and I for one have let rawren know!! It is crazy that I am lvl 50 ares player and have seen one of these CL's once before and thats it before the green text hit and I am an avid global 1 chatter!!

I find this interesting .. As someone who has played this game for about 1 1/2 years, there for a member of the "Community". Today is the first time I have ever heard of this "Community Leader" thing. I have been active at least 2 x a day for almost my entire playing time. I have also been in a few guilds as well. Why are us "everyday" players not informed of or given a chance to be included with things like this?? Regarding a "Community Leader", should the community as a whole not be able to have some sort of input in things like this?

If BB wants to promote such a thing, then they need to promote it.
I play everyday with no exceptions and this is the first I've heard of this.

Slycerz, no one was given a chance for input on this, and that's why so many people are upset over it. The BBs chose the first round of CLs quietly, and used them as guinea pigs for a 'training program.' Rawren has already said that in the future nominations will be held (on both servers,) so we will have a say.
Whether we like the people chosen or not, I'd personally like to see the community give the program itself a chance. Players have complained countless times that devs don't listen to the player's perspective, that they don't understand cuz they don't play. If this system is used properly, here's our chance to have the voice of the players heard in a way that doesn't overwhelm the devs with a thousand voices. They aren't intended to be police or rats, but to listen to what the players say in chat and forums, and know how the game works, and offer constructive feedback to the company.
Yes we use the forums. Yes the BBs also forward ideas. This is an attempt at another tool to close the gap between player and dev. Regardless of whether you know the currently chosen CLs or what you think of them, at least the company is trying to listen, at least that's what I get from it. Can we just let it be for a couple months and give it a chance? Having CLs doesn't directly influence the player's gameplay. Keep using the tools you were using before. You don't need to interact with them at all if you don't want to.
Seems to me more commotion is being made over who was chosen and how, rather than the program itself. So instead of cutting the program down, and since Rawren has already admitted mistakes were made, lets give them a chance to develop the program into what it should be.
ehh i have nothing against her personally, i think this program should be dropped and started over correctly with a community vote. But even then, is this program even necessary? i mean smitey has been CL for the longest and what has he done? and like BB said there is nothing different from a CL and a regular player who is knowledgeable, helpfull AND tattle tells, but if you want to keep this program and make it successful you need to think- when you call someone a community leader, i think they deserve to be voted into their position by the community- or else just change their title to something other then a leader. I think BB has players that keep their eyes on tabs to send in reports and we have forum for all your needs. Suggestions in the Suggestion thread, players have reported "bugs" (with a BIG quotation) This is like the definitition of crazy- doing the same things over and over ; we post suggestions in suggestion thread and we share with CLs, same with bugs and instead of reporting someone with the /report we tell the CLs and also report them? 'It is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results'. i honestly think that this program is splitting apart this community more than bringing it together but if BB wants to move on forward with this and make it work i do think that these leaders need to be demoted and then a vote for our FIRST community LEADERS.... (or change the title and keep it the players BB chose as is). But somethng does need to change in my honest opinion for this program to become successful.
and i am especially sorry for Ares players, i do play on Ares but Zeus is my main so i cant really talk for you guys and i wont but i can only imagine how you are feeling about this and i do think same should go for Ares, vote for their own CLs- maybe elect 2 from Ares and 2 from Zeus and each make/have an account on both servers and do what CLs do...........

Who started it? The cheater, if the cheater wasn't cheating there would be nothing to talk about.
Almost every online game I have played has made an attempt at allowing players to help develop the game. Almost every instance has ended in failure because the people who think they should have been picked won't stop complaining.
I would be a horrible community leader because I call a spade a spade when I see one. This entire discussion is juvenile and pointless.
