I'd like to nominate RigidNubs
I vote for RigidNubs
My NOMINATION for Community Leader is:
RigidNubs
A great person of guidance on and off the game
I agree, RigeNubs! Solid player and always helpful.
I would like to nominate myself, RigidNubs, with the nomination from others as well for the position of community leader. I have an active Skype account and have the ability and legal capacity to sign a non-disclosure agreement. I also have no infractions on my account and I play almost all waking hours of the day during the week and many hours on the weekend.
What is the primary server you play on? Zeus or Ares?
I have played on the Zeus Server for about one and a half years.
How have you contributed to the community? Please give examples.
I have been in the help tab and try to answer any questions I can (if they have not been answered already by the few other people that tend to be in there as well) and I have helped out many new people who have joined our guild learn how to play and grow.
What is the first thing you want to do as a CL?
The first thing I would like to try and do is be as helpful as possible in any way possible as a community leader but would also like to bridge the communication gap that seems to exist between BB’s and players in the community. From what I can tell and from asking around, the gap in communication tends to be one of the top complaints in forums and the chat tabs, closely followed by boredom. I think a monthly town hall meeting with BB’s and community leaders would be a great start.
Do you have any ideas to improve the community? (events, contests, etc.)
The best thing I believe that would improve the community would be closing the communication gap with a monthly town hall meeting in the forums or chat tabs. I think overall the community has plenty of events and contests that occur on a fairly regular basis but the main complaint is that the winnings do not make them really worth doing. The costs of some of the events and contests are not equivalent to the loot received but I think with an update to the loot received it would greatly enhance all contests and events. The Christmas event was appreciated by everyone and I did not hear any complaints about it so if we could mimic this event every time all events would be successful. An Olympic event would be great but it is too late to begin that this year.
In our own guild we do Friday Night Trivia, a lottery, scavenger hunts, and other games combining those three that help to keep us a tight nit group who really enjoy playing the game and it would be great to be able to expand these games to the whole community if possible.
What is the community's top requested feature for TSO?
This is a tough one because I have seen a lot of requests for the following ideas: PvP, build more than 25 troops at a time in the barracks, stack like items in the star menu, a command post to house all generals and send selected ones to adventures in one click, a guild bank where resources can be deposited and withdrawn, more island space (rock, tree, and shrub removal buffs), and unlimited floating residences. I would have to say build more than 25 troops at a time would take the cake outside of PvP closely followed by stacking items in the star menu.
What has prepared you to be a community leader for The Settlers Online?
I believe there are multiple things that have prepared me to be a community leader to include: playing TSO for over one and a half years, being a leader and helpful hand in our guild, being a non-commissioned officer (NCO) (sergeant) in the Marine Corps, a firefighter who served many community needs, and being a forum moderator and leader in other online games like TSO. I think having all this experience would help me be a good community leader and would help me to differentiate when it is time to be a community leader and when it is time to be a guild mate or friend in the game. When you establish a friendship or relationship of any kind there will always come a time in which one of those relationships will challenge your leadership role and you need to have the ability to stand up as the leader you have been selected to be and put your relationship to the side to make the right decision or give the correct guidance. I have this ability through all of my experience and I think a good community leader needs this kind of experience and leadership ability.
I agree,
Vote for RigidNubs!
