I agree with G_F_M that popup is annoying...give us the option to never see it again!
I agree also, it is very annoying and if I want to see what's new all I have to do is click New Shop Offers from the drop down.
The advertising gurus have deemed it worthwhile.

I could see it being useful for the 7 days following a change in what's in the shop -- but I really am getting tired of seeing the same old stuff.

I don't get that pop up.
The cost of not getting it is that I don't get the daily log in pop-up. No weekly gems either.
They haven't fixed that bug in over a year.
The change log and helpful tip menu.. I'd like to see a box for, Don't show again for current change log. That way, if they do something, it'll come up and you can actually read to to see what happened .. than click the box again.
And as for the shop menu, I'd like a plain, Don't show again, box.
