Feedback regarding the new version (icons replacing the text)

This feedback was given already on the test server when it was being tested by myself and many others.
Of course it was ignored because it made it to live with no response from the test server people in charge.

The icon "x" in the quest logs that replaced the old words "close" is confusing.
Currently we already have an "x" in the quest list for delete. So having a similar "x" as a button in the quest log itself seems to suggest delete as well.

It's bad enough that "x" is close in the upper right corner but now it makes it further confusing because its in 2 redundant locations.

If you look at the new mail interface. there is a circular arrow that is sort of like a go back icon. maybe you guys can use this icon in place of the "x" close in the quest details page.

And why was the feedback ignored on the test server?

Would someone please tell me why we have a test server?
If something can go wrong, it will.

Why are we catering to the illiterate? Do we really want illiterate people playing the game?

The idea is not bad, but implementation is poor. There are universal accepted icons for certain actions - like sending Email > a "moving Envelope", and using a check mark is not making a lot of sense. And the circle arrow is used for Refresh in Trading office..and for Cancel in the Email interface ?!? Granted, they are a bit different, but as I said - circle arrows are usually used for "refresh". Why not use the "x" icon here?

Another problem - only some of the buttons have a ToolTip text (displayed when you hover your mouse). That is not consistent and frankly looks like poor programming.

Overall this change brought more confusion than clarity. 1 thumb up for effort, 2 thumbs down for implementation.

I totally agree. The fact that in some places "x" means cancel, and in other places "x" means close is really confusing. It's making me have to stop and think twice every time I do anything.

I don't know about you, but I'd rather take my chances accidently hitting a potential refresh button than accidently hitting a potential delete button.

At least I know I'm not going to delete some quest or some piece of mail.

"x" generally means delete. (unless its in the upper corner of a window, than that is apparently the universe close button.)

As you guys notice we have "x" next to Side Quest in the Quest Logs menu. And also for Daily Quest.
We also have "x" in the mail interface by each of the mail lines right after expire column.
And we have a tiny little 'x' in the upper right corner of resources in the Star Menu.
(all 3 of the above cases means delete)

And now we have "x" in the quest details page.
(so if that doesn't mean delete hmmm... since it does seem to correspond with the 'x' delete in the quest logs list)

BB quality control people obviously doesn't like to listen to feedback on test servers. It's very clear they prefer to ignore them than to listen. And if they seemed like they listened they might have discovered it on their own when they do make changes. It takes a lot of effort to get it through to them to make any sort of changes.

A new player playing this game will be confused as hell when looking at the 'x' icon in the quest log in 3 different places.

As for the "refreshing" arrow circle in the mail interface. I Agree with Fuscus. I find that it's rather inconsistent that they're using that icon instead of the Red Circle with a Slash through it. (the red circle with a slash means cancel, which is exactly what should be used in the "New Mail" interface, because you're saying you want to cancel your new mail rather than refreshing/returning?) It should be red because if you click on it. your mail that you just typed up will get wiped out. The lack of a rollover in this screen doesn't help. A check means what? Need a rollover that says send. Why should it be a check button though and not some sort of mail icon that looks like it's being sent or pushed. The circular arrow is color coded yellow which seems neutral and harmless. But if you spent a lot of time writing up a piece of mail. And accidently hit that button thinking it is send. There is NO confirmation popup that says "Hey Are you sure you want to delete/cancel your mail composition."

Test Server is definitely useless. Since now (recently) I have learned from interacting with test server BB that they will only consider any changes if more than a handful of people give feedback. A few people telling them anything useful, they WILL IGNORE it. They even go as far as telling you to stop giving them feedback and let others give feedback and wait around for others to do it. The biggest problem here is when there is a unanimous obvious feedback where people agree. MOST people will not jump in a say I agree. Only maybe 3-4 people. And that is not enough for them to make any changes or consider changes. (I've noticed that people tend to say I disagree and jump on the bandwagon to start a counter posting or troll more than people who say I agree.) You literally have to create a campaign and petition and rally people to agree with you. Apparently they expect 100+ people to say something before they consider making changes. Which is why things go to live server and things get changed because by the time it actually affects people, you'll get a mass outcry. This is the problem with Test Server. If not enough people say anything, it will get ignored.

No kidding right? Believe me. I have messages from a BB telling me not to give too many feedback.
