"Improvements related to negative amount of working settlers"
The good news is that the negative settlers population that some have been experiencing will be fixed. Every account's population will be recalculated and will now display the correct amount of settlers.
However, after the calculations, you might notice that you appear to have "lost" some settlers or are above your current population limit. In the past, the population limitations were ignored in some cases and players had too many settlers in their settlements. This maintenance has corrected that issue, meaning that although your population might show as 3000 settlers, you only have the space for 2000. In this case, if you try to build something, you would not have an employee available to make the goods.
There are two workarounds for this issue. Neither are ideal, but they are available:
1. Build or upgrade your residences to increase your population limit.
2. Decrease the amount of settlers you have by "losing" troops during adventures.

I don't need to expand. I am producing what I need and excess on many items. My buffing partner keeps my people producing. I haven't figured out why I need anything more. My island is in balance. I even think I have the population thing under control. Until they come up with new content for lvl 50s and not just new buildings, I am just perking along. Note that I am saving room for pumpkin patches. I bought a lot of gems since I started playing in closed beta. The last 14 months ago. My gems are actually increasing because I don't spend them.
