I guess I must have done the first one and didn't know it. Now I have a new one. Thanks for waking me up, map42
If something can go wrong, it will.
Got enough eggs for a fast explorer. I'm hoping he'll just about pay for himself by the end of the event. I think I'll probably end up around 2000 eggs total and buy the rest when they hit single digits.
just tricks to see if ppl pay attention
Dear Settlers!
The Easter Event Removal Phase 1 will occur during maintenance on [April 30th, 2014].
This brief FAQ will provide detailed information about Removal Phase 1.
- What does Removal phase 1 mean?
The core mechanisms of the event will be turned off during Removal Phase 1. The event shop category will remain until Removal Phase 2 on [May 7th, 2014], so you will have one additional week to get special event items for Easter eggs. The Easter eggs can be found in your storage at anytime, even after Removal Phase 2.
- What happens to Easter quests that are not finished?
The event quest chains will be cancelled.
- What happens to Explorers who were sent before Removal Phase 1, but are still searching?
If you're lucky, your explorer might bring back Easter eggs from his last search. All treasure hunts that begin after Removal Phase 1 won't have a chance to find Easter eggs anymore.
- What happens to the Easter collectibles spread along my island?
There is a limited time frame to grab collectibles until the Easter collectibles are replaced by the standard ones. Depending on when the Easter collectibles spawned on your island, you may still have some time to pick up Easter collectibles after Removal Phase 1. But the next branch spawned will be the standard collectibles.
- What happens to the Easter collectibles in my storage?
Event collectibles won't be shown in the storage anymore because they cannot be used until next year's Easter event. But you will still own them and will not lose any collectibles. You can see the amount in the trade office when placing an offer and you can even still trade them. With next year's Easter event, the items will become visible in the Mayor's house again.
- Is it possible to create event items in the collections tab of the Mayor's house?
The creation of items like "hidden egg hunt" are related to the Easter event and require Easter collectibles; therefore, this option will be turned off. If you started to produce an event item before Removal Phase 1 maintenance, this item will still finish. Same goes for completed items: You can still pick them up after Removal Phase 1.
- Is it possible to use items like "hidden egg hunt" buff after Removal Phase 1?
Yes, you can still use the buff in order to get more Easter eggs. Additional eggs will also be shown in your storage for the entire year
and you can always use the resource in the provision house.
Information about Easter egg drops in adventures before Easter Removal 1
You can earn Easter eggs from adventures because adventures have an event resource drop chance.
This means once you completed an adventure during the Easter event you have a chance to get additional Easter eggs as a reward.
Some adventures didn't get the drop chance code, but this was recently corrected. However, this doesn't mean that Easter eggs will be a guaranteed drop with each adventure. All adventures that were completed before the correction was in place will be taken into consideration via script solution with removal phase 1.
I don't know, I feel like outside of the Trade Office, there should still be a way to get eggs, and I like the idea of Explorers still collecting eggs UNTIL after everything is removed from the event. It makes logical sense too, since they are explorers and who knows where they go to collect resources at, and I feel like they could still theoretically collect eggs until the Easter Shop category is removed. But that's just me. I don't expect it to happen, and it also makes sense why Explorers collecting eggs would be discontinued.
I guess I'm just feeling a little bitter about how hard it is to get eggs (for me), I just pray that the one week we have before the Easter Shop, people will stop hoarding eggs, and allow them to be bought easier. Because it's ridiculous even still. I really want to know why Christmas was so much different than Easter, because I could get everything from Christmas, including the Rarity Provision house, and I didn't leave with any regrets, why are eggs similar to presents and yet harder to obtain.
I remember making 25 presents per 25 Aunt Irma Baskets, nearly each and every time. Except now, at best you can only get 2-3 eggs for a 25 stack of Aunt Irma's. How are eggs rarer and yet they can be collecting just like presents. Pumpkins were hard because there was no easy way to get them, and were limited, but eggs? What is making them so rare? Is the MMA General really so desirable, that people are being jerks and making other people spend an unjustified large amount of "money" for eggs just because not everyone should have an MMA General?
That's rather cheap and selfish behavior if you ask me. It's times like these I wish I had storage for 200,000 resources or higher, because my 105,000 is just not getting eggs at all. I mean really if people are willing to only sell me at most 40 eggs for 105,000 marble, then there's something wrong with you. Because Marble IS NOT easy to get (in large quantities). Neither are horses and at ~80,000 horses, I refuse to go lower than 450 eggs, because that's 2000 cavalry, and a military unit. Outside of recruits, military units ARE hard to come by, especially when you have to wait until you have 40 horses for ONE cavalry unit. And that makes it the most expensive unit to buy per weapon unit ratio. Sure Cannoners and Elite Soldiers are technically more expensive, but only because of how rare their weapon resources are but they don't require more than 40 weapons.
Besides, 2000 Calvary for less than an experienced explorer, sounds like a reasonable deal. Especially with almost 5 Calvary per egg. So yeah people just don't understand a great deal. But then again I think people at high levels who probably own all the eggs, are probably why it's so hard to get eggs, because they have all these insane amount of resources, I guess 2000 Calvary is chump change for them.
everyone started small and didn't get everything on thier first event. i bring in over 500 eggs a day with explorers and adventures. the same can't be said of last year. just keep grinding away sooner or later you will be able to get all you want from events but it's a patience game remember that
I hope you have figured out how to move resources into your star storage. Say you are at max, 105000. Have your guildmate or friend send you say 50000. It will not fit in your storage so it goes to star. Return the 50000. You now have 50000 in star storage and 55000 in regular storage. You can then continue to add to your regular storage until you reach 105000 again.
If something can go wrong, it will.
Like I said, I wish I had a lot of fast explorers, and I wish I had lots of manuscripts and tomes, then I probably would be able to easily bring in a lot of eggs. I just would hate to have to wait until next Easter, before I have a chance to get the MMA, keep in mind, that while Settlers Online is a patience game and long term game.
A lot can happen in a year, odds are I could be dead next Easter event, so even if I save enough for almost a Veteran, and wait until next year for another chance, I could be hit by a car or a bus, I could get cancer, and I could die.
So even if would like to be here next Easter trying for that MMA general, no guarantee it will happen, but I guess that's just the nature of the game and life.
Well, a couple problems with this:
1. I haven't even reached said 105,000 yet on certain resources, as I just recently upgraded a lot of my level 3 Storehouses to that level.
2. I have been doing this for some resources by using the trade office, sure it may not be as streamlined as your suggestion, because if the trade fails, and you're not quick enough to fix it, it'll be awhile before you can fix it, by sending it to the trade office.
The best item in this event just cost a lot more than we are used to. In previous events up until now, BB has been very generous with event pricing. All players were, somewhat, able to acquire what they wanted and still had some event resource left over. But now, even I will admit, this event and perhaps future events will be geared towards more established players. I wouldn't be surprise that future event items will cost somewhere in the 3000+ resource. You just have to find a way to offset that, like more explorers, crazy trades, or perhaps join a supportive guild.
