It doesn't quite take a remarkable intellect to figure out that an endless game + time = "furthest endgame possible". If you hadn't been aware of that long before hitting 50, not sure what to do with you, obvious was kinda obvious. Then there is this mystical disease people have that the game at 50 somehow changes. Exactly how? Now at 50, you don't gain XP (which seems to depress alot of people for some reason) and you are still only doing the same thing over and over again until you can level your buildings to 5. So, you finally made it to the point of "furthest endgame possible" but you possibly _can't_ say you were expecting something to happen now? It's a time sink, we all know it, a bunch stayed, a bunch jumped ship, gotta decide...and it's a fairly long way until then.Very few people on Ares understand the gameplay of the elder 50s of Zeus.
Perfectly agree on that.We want innovative new content - but also content that does not break existing production ratios unless it has a dam good reason (like the deerstalker or imp silo, though both had flaws).
But we are speaking about content now (yea events count toward that alright), it's core is far different from events. So to keep in line here, with this thing we are supposed to FEEDBACK on, is an event, nothing that needs to crazy wtf wreck the TO like this stupid Goldtower. Oh wait, that was a welcomed part because it was useful (yea yea not on Zeus people because everyone be billionaire). Instead of most people being able to enjoy the Goldy now, they need to pay more for all resources because of the inflation the Goldy has added. Not sure how this is more brillant when in the end it doesn't change a single thing for the better. Since I don't trade much I'm not much bothered by it, it pays for the Manuscripts at least *shrugs
Again, another lookout from one perspective only, the ones who have everything already. Most every noob has a hard on for this guy already. It's a _massive_ upgrade to their 3 slow pokes and maaaaaaybe 1 Savage. The new explorer looks to be interesting (6.8h artifact search is interesting). Still - no innovative new building or anything really to be worth our time to log in every day (or spend gems if we miss a few days).
In perfect honesty...PvP, this static game..will do it for you? As in...really? Like really really? We have been promised Pvp for a couple of years now. What do we get? Another calendar with a trade able building.
With current gameplay, PvP will simply be dominated by people who have been through most events and have dropped some cash to buy everything in the merchant, just going with Generals now, because more Generals equals more and faster pew pew.
Indeed I miss the FEEDBACK that's supposed to be here. All I hear is whining from the most endgame possible players, because nobody cares about the 0815 player who perfectly enjoys this simple stuff they don't have yet and otherwise wouldn't get without dropping their wallet. Not all content can and will be aimed toward endgame, as simple as that.you miss the point of this thread - its for FEEDBACK, not bowing and scraping their feet
Any retort about needing to keep endgamers to keep the game alive will be dismissed, as there won't be a game without the noobs growing bigger either. It's like taking out the middle class of a country, it's suicide.
So it's not FEEDBACK anymore? But...But...but I...FEEDBACK?! Aww shugsAs for american football v. soccer
Last content-update aimed at endgame was...eh, Fairytale I guess, which resulted in lots of crying over losses being so high (dare lose anything other then Recruits when you have trillions of coins to waste around), rewards being so expensive...and everything just quiet down again, as it was actually balancing the game quite nicely. Then people start crying they can't run 3 FTs back to back because PH/Barracks can't keep up with the losses...I mean really? Not only do you need to have no job to be this dedicated, but also failing to see it wasn't supposed to be another horribly broken adventure like Nords or BK and totally disregarding the intention of that being a "3 player map" to team up, so now they've come up with those annoying Co-ops instead...and failing miserably here because nothing really worth spending the time on.
Plus, with Testserver being updated now, the items have already changed to what this preview has shown. I'll save you the time and write if for you though
- Great Explorer limit to 2, fancy but still whatever
- Friaries, can trade them, have enough, don't need them.
- 5 BLs, already have enough and no space, useless.
- 20 MAs are excellent! I have no space for more Manors though
- Stadium Snack. Overpriced, already got enough Rainbow buffs already anyway
- Training Overtime. Overpriced.
- Rest whatever
So alas, still nothing new for your endgame experience, sorry
FEEDBACK is all good and so forth when it is constructive, but most of this is simply whining.
This event goes live on far more servers than just Zeus and Ares, and most servers/players will appreciate to get what they can. So your FEEDBACK should contain a far broader view than just (yourself and) Zeus.
Good night.
There are some finer points about the game that you haven't learned yet:
3 level 5 farms are NOT the same as 5 level 3 farms. Why? travel time.
same goes for improved silos
example:
Level 1 improved silo adds 1 wheat in 4m + travel (let's say 20s)
Level 1 farm takes 1 wheat every 12m + travel (let's say 20s)
so 3 L1 farms will take 3 wheat out in 12m20s
The silo will need 4m20 x3 trips to add 3 to a deposit total time 13m
result? over time your wheatfield will collapse. An improved silo is worth about 2.75 farms of equal level, not 3.
That's all based on best travel times, as your numbers go higher and you get more buildings in the chain, distances increase and the ratios get worse.
When you reach a point where your island is 100% full, and all your buildings are level 5, this becomes a very important distinction.
Here's my feedback:
I look forward to getting this new Explorer, I would like to get 3.
I hope this "grout" isn't an impossible task for the newcomers (and others) to achieve.
Although the ability to upgrade masons, marble masons and farms may not be the most exciting right now, it will help the newcomers and I wonder if they fit into a bigger plan. I hope so. (Of course that's my wishful strategic thinking only).
As I no longer have space to add more silos, I need more space.More island space would be a nice calendar prize. ^^
Still around from time to time.
Would love to see how to get tne new resorce (if it is hard then it is less valuble to all players). As far as the other stuff will wait to see.
If it is easy to get then it's less valuable* - grout that is
my response for grout will probably be buying up million worth of grout and sitting on it till a good update comes out.
I could of moved old silos perfectly fine, cost 50k to move? no big deal. The problem is the new silos I have to run at a 11:4 ratio. This makes it really fun to perfectly place my buildings so 11 farms 4 silos feed into EACH field exactly. Otherwise fields collapse over time, silos start wandering and the ratio breaks down. It would probably take me 6 hours to rearrange everything to keep the needed ratios.
Gold towers DID NOT BREAK your little economy. The blame goes to the PH2. If you had seen the state of gold production before/after Christmas you would understand. Before Christmas, ONLY lvl 5 coinages received 3x buffs. Now everything does. Before 3x buffs only came from events and noobs selling off their leveling buffs. 1 gold tower brings in 110 coin or so a day unbuffed. Pittance compared to gold chains churning out 10k every 12h.
More of the same "new" content with a different bow? I will give more of the "same" towards my gem accumulation.
This is just another event that is supposed to distract (some) players attention for some time. I never thought they are supposed to bring radical changes to the game. What if somebody is on vacation (God forgive me for having these sinful thoughts! ) and it will miss the event entirely ...? Remember that in Europe normal ppl have 6 weeks vacations, so don't expect big changes. Cornelius Fuscus would have said "panem et circenses"
PS. You can call it either football or soccer ball...for me is just a ball. Just don't call it "puck"
