I have changed my mind. I liked the soccer event, for the most part. There is one day left before the final match is released. I have all the buffs acquired to do it. This took a lot of number crunching and brain work. It was different and helped elininate my boredom. I do have a lot of collectibles that I haven't used. I wonder what I can do with them?

I had no interest in grout. Lvl 6 farms would only cause me to do a bunch of moving and removing. I could upgrade mines without a problem, however if the initial quantity of ore stays the same it would mean I would have to spend more time searching for new mines. Not something I realy want to do.

All in all I think it was a good program.

    Thank you.

the only thing that doesnt make me happy is the level 6 only for masons and farms, should have been to all buildings, hopefully it will be added in the future

The event has been fun and despite my initial reservations about the level 6 farms, I have now been able to upgrade my friaries to level 5 without the addition of more farms. Something that would not have been possible before.

I gave up on bothering to get enough buffs to get through the finals. I probably could, but I decided it was not worth it. The cost of the collectibles (whether I were to buy them to have enough or sell them and take the profits to buy soccer balls) outweighs the value of the rewards for them.

Just read over the little fluff piece on the event. Didn't see anything answering why the materials for the buffs were provided in such an abysmal manner that it is near impossible to get the required buffs without vastly overspending for them.

it seems there's tons of collectibles available, its just a matter of finding the right people who have what u need, and people that need what u have. guilds really help with this aspect...or should. i tried to sell some of the rare ones at decent prices, but found that the resellers would just buy them and mark them up. so now i'm just giving stuff out to ppl on my friend list who need them.

I've noticed an imbalance with the ratios of what collectibles we seem to need for the event (particularly where shoes, studs, springs, and banana peels are concerned) versus which ones we seem to find the most of/don't need as much (or may not need) of where the ones we seem to need the most of, are very scarce whereas the ones we don't need as many of, have been the most plentiful. In talking to a friend who also plays, they've commented on the same thing--and same collectibles even. The rates for them in the trade wall for the ones needed have been largely astronomical in terms of the cost or else unaffordable.

While, for the most part, I like this event--and that we have so many days to try to complete it and do so piece-meal as opposed to a regular adventure that would have to be done in a certain order, along with the new explorer and the fun graphics--I'm honestly not a fan of the collectibles ratio with respect to the ones that are most needed also being the most scarce to come by. :/

I know this has been mentioned repeatedly, but a big drawback of the new summer event was the ratio of collectibles needed to complete the adventures. To illustrate, I have 2 events left, and whereas I have 500+ of common collectibles (pads, studs, wet grass, etc.), I barely have enough of the rare collectibles (shoes, springs, gloves, etc.) to make a single buff.

The problem, as I see it, is that explorers are almost exclusively bringing back the common collectibles on searches - the wet grass collectible being the most common find (currently have almost 1000 of those). Rare collectibles should have appeared more often during these searches.

The high cost of obtaining the items is not ideal. I'm usually very excited for events because gaining access to special buildings/buffs/units during the events and the related trading and activities that go along with it is quite enjoyable. The scarcity designed in this event had the opposite effect - I lost interest weeks ago when it became apparent that obtaining the items I wanted would come at an extremely high cost. I'm perfectly alright with making it difficult to obtain items - that makes events fun - but the scarcity of organic collection (adventures, searches, collectible finds, etc.) in this event has created a highly inflated marketplace. This appears to be a trend with newer developments of the game (such as FT/epic items). While I believe that has created added value to the game, it doesn't mesh well with a short-term event. It's taken me months to collect enough beans to purchase a single FT item - I don't have months to collect soccer balls to purchase event items.

Aigil, the rare items you speak of...explorers dont bring those back at all. They're only found on your island, and in much fewer quantities. That, and the sheer number of springs and shoes required for the matches, has contributed to the shortage.
