Developer's Diary: More information about the event - The Settlers Football World Championship
Dear Settlers,
This developer's diary is related to the new event: The Settlers Football World Championship. More details can be found below.
The event resource is called Footballs. They can be traded and are listed in the warehouse (event tab) as usual.
If you still have Footballs from the previous event, you can use those as well.
How to get Footballs (event resource)? - Rewards for completing event quests
- Rewards for completing adventures
- Loot collected by explorers during treasure searches
- Collectible Items
- Event Calendar
- Trading with other players
- In-game Shop
- Stefan’s Sports Box
With the start of the event, a special Event Calendar has been added to the game.
It allows all players (minimum level: 16) to receive many useful gifts, including buildings!
The calendar interface features 3 different types of windows:
- Regular Window (1) that can be opened on a certain day (or afterwards with Gems).
- Special Window (2) that can be opened on a certain day (or afterwards with Gems), only if all previous windows have been opened.
Important: Each player needs to choose the reward from the list on the right (the choice cannot be changed afterwards).
The above picture presents two situations:
Rewards selected (left) and rewards not yet selected (right).
- Adventure Window (3) that can be opened on a certain day (or afterwards without Gems).
Opening the Event Calendar interface is easy: Just click on the icon of the Football that is located next to your avatar:
The football icon is shown only to players that have reached level 16 or higher.
There are many event collectibles in the game which can be used to produce special buffs (counter abilities)
that are needed to complete new event adventures. Counter abilities can be produced in the Provision houses.

The 7 new non-combat event adventures are available through the Event Calendar.
Calendar doors that provide these special adventures can be opened on (or after) a certain day, even if the previous doors were not opened.
This way, every player is able to play all adventures.
Please note that some enemy camps on the event adventures require more than one counter ability to defeat them, examples:
To defeat the camp shown in the picture, two counter abilities are required.
During the event it is possible to acquire many objects, including decorative flags and other buildings.
The event brings a new resource to the game: Grout. This special resource allows you to upgrade certain buildings from level 5 to 6!
It is possible to upgrade three following buildings up to level 6: Farm, Mason and Marble mason.
There is also a new Lucky explorer that is not only 3 times as fast as his colleagues, but also has a special ability.
This special ability grants you a chance to acquire a buff not only during treasure searches, but also during adventure searches!
