    "Wild West" alternate Global Chat

I would like to see what the BBs and players (including moderators) think about temporarily designating an alternate Global chat room (self-moderated) for an environment that more closely resembles the Global that some of us have become accustomed to over the last two years. This chat would not take the place of Global-1 but rather in addition to it.

    1. Do you think it would help to resolve some conflict?

    2. Would this cause more problems and if so what kind? How could we solve those problems?

    3. If labeled as "self-moderated chat" or "this tab is unrated" (or something along those lines) instead of saying Global-"2" would that satisfy the ratings? i.e. instead of saying "Welcome to Global-2" you would see instead "Welcome to Global-2: warning, this room contains animals!" (or whatever legal stuff is required)

I would expect that the "Global-2" in the "Welcome to Global-2" is a variable string and could be modified rather easily.

Under the current Code of Conduct, Globals 2 - 30 are generally unmoderated. As you may note from the information in the Codes of Conduct section of the forum, the guildline clarifications are entitled "Global-1, Help, and Trade Tab Guidelines". The moderators do have access to all of the global channels, but generally action will only be taken in response to a request or report of players. Outright harassment or disruptive behavior is not acceptable anywhere in the game, and is still reportable by players. Players should remember that participation in the other global channels is voluntary and at their own risk.

In other words, the Global channels 2-30 can be thought of as adult chat rooms, as long as players can act like adults.

    Thank you for your response.

you say other globals are generally unmoderated BUT I have seen you and another pop up in other globals when not needed...people see yellow type and they dont wanna chat cause of the fact they are scared to be banned or singled out. We need a room that you guys just leave us alone in, let us have our fun and maybe let the person that starts the room have the option to kick a disruptive player from the room (not ban).

Under the current chat system, there is no mechanism to create private rooms or give other players the ability to exclude others from chat rooms, with the exception of the guild chat channel. All the global chat channels are open to all players, and unless players are actively violating the code of conduct at the level of rules set for the individual channel, they will not be removed.
