Hello,

The production of your island will stop 24 hours after logging out. The timer is reset if a friend visits your island and buffs a building.

I have edited the Game FAQ to include this information.

Agreed. This is how it works with. I did this over the summer with a friend when he was gone for a week upgrading his buildings to lvl 5.

It's not needed to Buff when visiting. Just visiting will start the clock (24h) again.

Having been on vacation for over week, I had logged in once via my hotspot and sent out explorers on 48 hour very long treasure searches (no upgrades)... i logged in 5 days later after getting back to find my explorers with 24 hours remaining on their search.
i was under the impression it was longer, and rumors of buffs prolonging this..

however no friendly buffs on me and it was 24 hours before i went to sleep mode.
