I understand your frustration, but the new battle system is still in an early development stage. The developpers have specific needs when it comes to testing, that is why we have asked our players to fill in a survey. Having high expectations about a new feature that is not ready can be even more frustrating.
We want to provide the best gaming experience for everyone, but before that we need to tweak a couple of things.

In my opinion an endless Iron Mine would damage the economy. Iron is used to create tomes and many different weapons, but can also be traded. A normal Iron Chain requires you to invest Hardwood, Marble and Tools to build a mine, and some more tools to upgrade it. It is also a time consuming process, as you need to send your Geologist on a mission. Removing those requirements would lower the price of Iron, as the demand will decrease, but the supply would increase. Given that gems are a hard currency, their value is should be stable, so shouldn't impact other currencies as they are not regulated.
This is my personal point of view, and I am not a designer, just an humble Community Manager.

As I said before, I'm not into team sports very much. I've been doing some rock climbing and skydiving for many years, but unfortunately I had to stop when I moved to a bigger city, the clubs and transports were too expensive. Natum Vincere is my favorite esports team.
