Test server is pretty clear on this. The loot on all adventures is being nerfed. We get up to 12 loot slots but most of them are filled with "junk" - small depos of wheat, fish (seriously? ) ores, some bread, and other stuff. The amount of epic resources (granite, exo wood and titanium ore) is being drastically reduced. The word "on the street" is also the chance of getting granite is also dropped down. Can't confirm this since BB is not coming clean about it and not posting "proposed" loot tables for each adventures.
I think the devs (at least form videos on website) are quite young. So here is a simple advice from a 20 years MMO vet. Nerfing ALWAYS has consequences and they are NEVER pretty. Your "new combat balance" fiasko - faced with overwhelming response from majority of players saying "NO!" should have teach you something. The funny thing is, all you had to do to make using advance units more desirable was to lower the cost and time of making them. Most lev 50ies would just use S and ES instead of R purely because it would mean... less clicking in barracks to train them! Wouldn't you trade training 5k R for 1k ES (granted the cost would be just decent)? I would...
Posting your proposed loot tables would give you a players feedback. From there you could (devs) slide the nerf bat more or less till levels of acceptable compromise are reached. Yes there would be some whining, but at least you get a decent feedback that can help with scaling your nerf. Swinging the nerf bat wide has proven in history of MMO's to always hit you right back - read: losing unhappy customers.
You can easily see the happiness level of your players dropping recently. The expansion islands is the only thing you guys got right over past 6 months and spot on. EVERY post prizes you-devs for this. Build on this, start a dialog about the loot changes. You are running a business that depends on how happy your customers are, and rather they feel comfortable and pleased and interested enough in this game to make a purchase of gems. As the word of the wise say "It's business, it's not personal".
