    Ignore Function

It'd be awesome if the forum software gave me the option to ignore both entire threads and individual users.

If I ignore a thread, I wouldn't want it to appear in the result set of "New Posts." That way I could more easily ignore all the incessant, yet utterly useless, chatter created by tugs of war, word association and any other thread designed to suck away time while offering no value to me. Or perhaps you could let me ignore the entire "Off Topic" forum. That'd be a 3rd option, as there are plenty of useless-to-me threads that don't live in the Off Topic forum.

Ignoring a user could be more challenging, since I'd end up seeing replies to the user's posts. But I'd probably get used to that. And I'm sure there are those out there whose first move would be to ignore me as well.

If I ignored a user, I wouldn't want them to be able to PM me either.

We are overwhelmed with new posts? I was going to mention that we are seeing a great decrease in posts. Shades of things to come?
If something can go wrong, it will.

Let's just say I'd really like an option to re-balance the ratio of useless:useful threads.

Generally speaking, I don't think the overall reduction in threads is completely alarming. If you consider how much of the game needed to be documented, and how much of that work is done, then it's natural to see a reduction in new threads. I don't know that it's possible, advisable, or even attractive, to keep the game changing so much that the documentation requirements don't drop off. So now you see the predictable spikes related to events, or news from the test server. And in the downtime between those, all of the off-topic stuff, or complaints, or "I can't log in" threads pop up like weeds.

I'm looking for some weed killer.
